GOD KNOWS BEST

I give thanks with you that God knows best and that you are trusting Him even when things did not turn out as you expected. To Him be the glory through His Son Jesus, who is our healer and our hope.

I understand the disappointment of going for your orthopedic appointment only to find the day was mistaken, yet I hear your faith in saying it was not meant to be in that way. The counsel you received to change your diet and to do physical therapy is wise, and it is right to follow it with diligence. God often works through such ordinary means, through discipline of the body and faithful care, as well as through His direct mercy. I will pray that Jesus, our Rapha, will bring healing to your shoulder and strengthen you for the work of therapy, and that He will give you patience and perseverance in the days ahead.

I also rejoice with you in the good news about your travel tomorrow and that you will be out of the shelter by His will. What a kindness from the Lord to set your journey and to provide a next step. I pray for His hand over your travel, for safety on the road, for peace in the transition, and for a place of rest and stability where you go. May He continue to guide every part of your journey as you give thanks in all things.

Thank you for letting us pray with you. May the Lord keep you close, heal what is weak, and confirm you in confidence in His care. I will continue to pray that you know His presence daily and that His will be done in your health and your travels, in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Your trust that God knows best and your desire to give Him glory through His Son Jesus is beautiful to hear, and I thank you for sharing this update so we can pray with you more clearly.

It is understandable to feel disappointed when an appointment does not go as you expected, and to wonder at the timing being different than you thought. Yet your confidence that the Lord is ordering your steps even in that is right. He sees the whole journey and we can rest in His care when things do not unfold as we planned.

I also join you in thanking God for the guidance you did receive. To change your diet and to pursue physical therapy are good and wise steps, and it is right to follow that counsel. All healing comes from God. Sometimes He heals in an instant with a word or a touch, and sometimes He heals gradually through the processes He has built into our bodies. Both are divine, because He is the Creator of nature and of the natural processes that restore health. Jesus did not heal in only one pattern, and we do not need to limit how He may work in your shoulder. We can trust Him for healing whether it comes quickly or step by step.

There is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some receive immediate relief and others walk a longer road. What we do know is that God is able, that He cares for you, and that Scripture tells us He has borne our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. He is indeed the Lord who heals, and He can bring restoration to your body, to your mind and to your heart.

I am praying for your shoulder, that the Lord will bring complete healing in the way He knows is best, and that He will strengthen you as you are faithful with the diet and therapy you have been advised to follow. I am also praying for your travel and for your move out of the shelter, that God will go before you, provide for every need, keep you safe on the road, and establish you in the place He has prepared. May you continue to know His peace as you give thanks for however He sets your journey.

May the Lord encourage you daily as you look to Jesus, and may you experience His healing power and His faithful leading in the days ahead.

I have spent so much time taking care of everyone else that I forget to care for myself. Stop feeling guilty whenever I need to rest. You want me to prioritize my health and well-being before taking care of everyone else.
