God it just doesn't matter if I live or die, so I want to die. Please take me. In Jesus name

We hear the depths of your despair, and our hearts ache with you in this moment of profound pain. The weight of hopelessness can feel unbearable, and we want you to know that you are not alone—God sees you, He hears you, and He holds you even when you cannot feel His presence. The words you’ve spoken reflect a cry that many have uttered in their darkest hours, and we take this plea seriously, for your life is precious to the Lord.

First, we must rebuke the spirit of despair and death that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The enemy wants to convince you that your life has no value, but the truth is that you were fearfully and wonderfully made by God Himself (Psalm 139:13-14). Every breath you take is a gift from Him, and He has a purpose for you that only you can fulfill. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We command that spirit of death to loose its grip on you in the mighty name of Jesus!

We also want to gently but firmly remind you that your life belongs to God, not to yourself. The Bible tells us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). You are not your own—you were created for God’s glory, and He is not finished with you yet. To take your own life would be to usurp God’s authority over your days, and we know that is not what you truly desire deep down. You are asking God to take you, but we believe He is asking you to trust Him with your pain and let Him carry you through this valley.

We must also address the absence of hope in your words. The Bible tells us that hope in God is an anchor for the soul (Hebrews 6:19). Even when you cannot see a way forward, God is working behind the scenes, weaving together a future that you cannot yet imagine. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says the Lord, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'" You may not feel it now, but God’s plans for you are good, and He is not done writing your story. We encourage you to cling to this truth, even if it feels impossible right now.

We also want to speak to the isolation you may be feeling. Depression and despair can make you feel utterly alone, but the Lord promises never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Even if you cannot feel His presence, He is there, and He is holding you. We urge you to reach out to someone—a trusted friend, a pastor, a counselor—who can walk alongside you in this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support you in prayer and in love.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, You see the anguish in their soul, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask that You would break the chains of despair that have wrapped around their heart and mind. Father, we rebuke the spirit of death and command it to flee in the name of Jesus. We declare that Your light will shine in the darkness, and that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way. Show them that they are not alone, that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). Remind them of Your unfailing love, which never ceases and never fails (Lamentations 3:22-23). Father, we ask that You would restore their hope and give them a renewed sense of purpose. Help them to see that their life has value and that You have a plan for them, even when they cannot see it.

We pray for healing, Lord—healing for their mind, their emotions, and their spirit. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Surround them with people who will speak life into them, who will remind them of Your truth, and who will walk with them through this valley. Give them the strength to take one step at a time, trusting that You are with them.

Father, we also pray for protection over them. Shield them from the lies of the enemy and fill their mind with Your truth. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31) and give them the courage to keep going, even when it feels impossible.

Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears our cries and who responds with compassion. We trust that You are working in this situation, and we ask that You would bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). We declare that this season of darkness will not last forever, and that joy will come in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

We pray all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, the One who conquered death and offers us eternal life. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

Beloved, we want you to know that your pain is valid, and it is okay to not be okay. But we also want you to know that there is hope, even when you cannot see it. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God" (Psalm 42:11). You may not feel like praising God right now, but we encourage you to hold onto this truth: God is your help, and He is worthy of your trust.

We also want to gently remind you that if you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please reach out to someone immediately. Call a trusted friend, a pastor, or a crisis hotline. You are not a burden, and there are people who care about you and want to help. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), or you can text "HOME" to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line. Please do not hesitate to use these resources—your life matters more than you know.

Finally, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, even if it’s just a few verses each day. The Bible is alive and active, and it has the power to speak life into your situation. Start with Psalm 23, Psalm 34, or Isaiah 41:10, and let God’s promises sink deep into your heart. You may not feel it now, but His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11).

We are standing with you in prayer, and we believe that God is going to do a mighty work in your life. Keep holding on, dear one. Your story is not over yet.

We're here with you, dear friend, feeling the weight of your despair. We understand that it feels like God doesn't matter, that life or death seems irrelevant. But we want you to know that your life is precious to Him, and He sees you in your pain.

We've been praying for you, asking God to break the chains of despair that hold you. We've been reminding Him of His promises, like how He's close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that His love never fails (Lamentations 3:22-23). We've been asking Him to fill you with hope and a sense of purpose.

We've also been praying for protection over you, that God would shield you from the lies of the enemy and fill your mind with His truth. We've been asking Him to give you the strength to take one step at a time, trusting in Him.

We want you to know that it's okay to not be okay, but we also want you to hold onto hope. The psalmist cried out in despair but held onto the truth that God is his help (Psalm 42:11). We encourage you to do the same.

It's so past time for me to be gone. I'm a burden. I deserve death. I want to die but I'm too chicken to take myself out and don't have a method that I'm certain will give me the desired result: my demise. Please God, take me. Don't leave me here to suffer.

Afraid. In pain. Purposeless. I'm a defective piece of garbage, trash, a burden that needs to be taken out. I do not matter and my little corner of the world would be much improved if I was gone. No longer a waste of time/space/resources, a "useless eater" taking government resources better...
