God isn’t there

We hear the depth of your pain and despair, and we want you to know that your cry has not gone unnoticed. The feeling of abandonment and the weight of loneliness can be overwhelming, but we stand with you in this moment, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even when it feels like God is distant, He is closer than you realize, holding you in His hands.

It’s important to remember that God has not left you. In Hebrews 13:5, He promises, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you." The silence you may feel does not mean He is absent, it may be a season where He is drawing you closer, teaching you to trust Him even when you cannot see His hand at work. The enemy wants you to believe the lie that God has abandoned you, but we rebuke that deception in the name of Jesus. God is faithful, even when our emotions or circumstances scream otherwise.

We also want to gently address the name you used to call upon God. The Bible is clear that there is only one name by which we can approach God and be saved, Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first step to experiencing the fullness of God’s presence in your life.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who feels abandoned and alone. Lord, we ask that You would break through the darkness and reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way. Remind them of Your promises, that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You will never leave nor forsake them. Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to steal, kill, and destroy their faith. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them feel Your presence like never before.

Lord, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that You would draw them close. Open their eyes to see the truth of Your love and the power of the cross. Help them to understand that salvation is found in Jesus alone, and that through Him, they can have a personal relationship with You. Heal their heart, restore their hope, and let them experience the joy of Your salvation.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

In this season of doubt, we encourage you to cling to God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures like Psalm 23, which reminds us that even in the valley of the shadow of death, God is with us. Spend time in prayer, even if it feels one-sided at first. Pour out your heart to Him, and trust that He hears you. Surround yourself with believers who can encourage you and remind you of God’s faithfulness. You are not alone, and this season of feeling distant from God will not last forever. He is working, even when you cannot see it.

We hear the weight in those words, the kind of ache that feels final, like you've been left alone in a ditch while life goes on without you. That sense of abandonment is not something to brush past. It’s a raw, honest place, and we’re grateful you said it out loud.

When someone says they feel left for dead, it brings to mind the man in Jesus’ story who was beaten and thrown to the roadside. He couldn’t rescue himself. What’s striking is that God didn’t send an angel with a flash of light, instead, an ordinary stranger stopped, bandaged his wounds, and made sure he got to safety. The man couldn’t see any of that coming while he lay there bleeding. The help felt hidden, but it was already on the way. We wonder if something similar might be true for you: not that your pain is small, but that God often works his rescue through the steady, daily kindness of people he puts in our path, even when he himself feels absent.

We won’t pretend to know why he seems silent right now. But we can sit with you in that silence without rushing to fix it. One small, brave step you might take is simply to tell him exactly what you told us, with all the anger, all the disappointment. He can handle it. And if you’ve been carrying this alone, it may be time to let someone else walk beside you: a pastor, a support group, or a counselor who can help you sort through the heaviness without judging it. Sometimes persistent hopelessness needs both prayer and practical support, and there’s no shame in seeking that.

Let’s pray:
Jesus, you know what it is to cry out from a dark place. Come close to this one who feels forgotten. Hold them steady, even when they can’t feel you. Send the right person at the right time to help bear this weight, and give courage to take the next small step toward care. In your name alone. Amen.

You speak as if the darkness has swallowed up the light forever, but such a cry is not strange among the Lord's afflicted ones. In the words of holy writ, Zion said, "Jehovah has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me." This fear has been felt by very many, and you are not the first to groan under the weight of seeming abandonment. Yet listen: the whip may come down mercilessly again and again, but there is a higher reason why God permits the blows. Very often for your safety. The sharp plough cuts deep into the soil, but it is not for destruction; it is for harvest.

You feel He is not there, but His memorial is not set up in heaven where He might leave it, nor upon a ring that could be taken off. He has graven you upon the palms of His hands; your walls are continually before Him. Even when your eyes fail with looking for comfort, His eyes do not fail, nor His arm. The promise is sure: "I will not fail you, nor forsake you." Not in your weakness, not in your despair, not when all earthly help gives way. The mighty God of Jacob does not forsake His own.

Yet I hear the whisper of the enemy, telling you it is humble to despair. But it is not so. The pride of despair is truly terrible. How does Satan have the impudence to make men despair when an omnipotent God is theirs to deal with? Despair when the precious blood of the Son of God is given for sinners? Never despair, but trust in Jesus when at your worst. Your need itself, not your sense of it, is what qualifies you for His healing. He did nothing for show; He healed them that had need of healing. Your case may seem far gone, beyond all hope, but it is precisely such hopeless ones that Christ delights to restore.

The pardoned man is cleansed from guile; he seeks no quarter for darling sins but honest dealing with the all-seeing eye. Come, then, with your sin confessed, your heart laid bare, and look to Him who took your sin and was punished for it. His promise may tarry, but it never fails. If it seems to fail for a time, ask with the Psalmist, "Is His mercy clean gone forever? Does His promise fail forevermore?" And answer as faith must: No, a thousand times no! So be of good cheer, for there is yet a place of healing, and the Great Physician still receives sinners.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You feel God has left you for dead. Such a cry does not come from a heart that disbelieves entirely, but from one that is pressed on every side and perplexed. I would not have you despair. The Apostle himself knew this torment, and he cried out that he was perplexed, yet not unto despair; pursued, yet not forsaken. These trials befall the very noblest men. Do not suppose you are disregarded as worthy of no account. God has dealt thus with great and admirable ones before you. Their carcasses fell in the wilderness because of unbelief, but even then, while it is called Today, no man should despair so long as he lives.

Why does God seem silent? His silence was enough to drive that woman of Canaan to perplexity, and His answer did so much more. She heard that the thing was impossible, yet she would not let go. You are in perplexity now, but you are not straitened. You are smitten down, but you are not destroyed. These are not mere words; they are the power and grace of God at work in ways you cannot see. If He numbers the very hairs of your head, and not a sparrow falls without His knowledge, how can you think yourself forsaken? It is not that He wills you to be delivered from terrors, but that you learn to despise them, for that is true deliverance.

The devil never gives up the hope of your destruction. Will you then despair of your own salvation? That monster is wicked and never despairs; this should condemn us if we let go. Even if your heart is wavering, God is able to make you stand. The loss is His concern, and He is not unconcerned. The knowledge of God is best shown by believing without proofs and demonstrations. You were called Faithful that you might unhesitatingly believe what is delivered to you. When you call Him to account, you are demanding proofs, but the things of God are only to be revered and believed. The patriarchs made their journey through trials and were not forsaken; neither are you. Let there not be an evil heart of unbelief. Exhort yourself daily, while it is still called Today.
