Kindness of God Softens Matrimonial Spouse's Heart Rom 2:4, Holy Spirit Work, Jn 16:8, Grace to Embody Christ's Love, Biblical Advice Bears Fruit… Father, in Your kindness, soften my matrimonial love (we committed to each other before You in the presence of many witnesses as You remember), bring her, me, and our families to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, the purpose which the kindness of God is intended, Rom 2:4. Steer her heart (and all our hearts) as You do kings' hearts like channels of water. Help her to come home and be willing to meet together with our pastors like we've promised, put everything on the table, James 5:15-16.

Do as You did for Lot in helping him to escape Sodom. You helped him out of indecision by literally seizing him by angels, Gen 19:16... Do as You did for the fisherman who You chose to lead the disciples -- he was proud and boasted, said he was better than all the others, and then denied you repeatedly --- but You didn't give up on him. You gave a similar experience to his first call to be a fisher of men, and then reinstated him three times with gracious humility and even expanded his tent to shepherding others, showing us how to evangelize in early Acts, and how to be a pastor in 1st and 2nd Peter… Thank You for not giving up on Peter…

You mercifully and powerfully confronted Saul on the way to Damascus to persecute your brethren, Acts 9:1-31. Later, after blinding him, letting him mess up, make tents and then giving him some private discipleship — “while they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, The Holy Spirit set Barnabas and him apart for the work to which I called them,” Acts 13:2-3. You made him the Paul we all know and love -- a light to all the people groups... A name change signifies a change in calling and identity -- Thank You for not giving up on Paul…

Don’t give up on the one I love and am so ready and willing to forgive... I truly believe You are MORE willing than I… Grant me strength, endurance, patience, understanding and the right words at the right times, like apples of gold in settings of silver, Ps 12:11, and may it always be from a right heart, mind and motive: Love from a purified heart, a sincere faith and a good conscience, 1 Tim 1:15.

It was while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting -- please help me hunger and thirst for righteousness in these situation, and help others share this burden with me for her, me, our child, the entire situation and all that’s transpired, good, bad and ugly, to be turned for glory, praise and honor, Isa 58:6-14.

The early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to our prayers." Let that be shown to be true not only yesterday, but today and forever. Please work powerfully within me, humbling my soul with fasting, sanctifying residual pockets of darkness with light, helping the word become flesh, as John says, to love The LORD and my neighbor with ALL my heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances -- my thoughts, words, deeds, actions and especially my reactions -- let the word be engrafted, James 1:22-23.

Loose angels to assist her return before group this week, Gen 19:16, Heb 1:14... Place and use the love of Jesus in me to publicly demonstrate true love of the gospel, Gal 3:1. Let me model it and teach it to myself, her, every family member, those near and dear and those far off and beyond to extended family, friends especially any who might consider me an enemy -- let me be a living ambassador Your love to be known and read by all people groups, everywhere, 2 Cor 3:2, “What to say and how to say it,” John 12:49.

Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15. Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth, John 17:17. Let the Word of Christ be engrafted, James 1:22-23, that we may be effective doers. Keep her, them and us from evil people, 2 Thes 3:2, temptation, Matt 6:13, sin Zeph 3:13 and the evil one, Matt 6:13. Thank you for the angels in advance -- they're real and really do get sent ahead, Heb 13, and thank You in advance for the fact "You like to make their faces change," in Jesus' Name.

"I don’t speak on My own authority. The Father who sent Me has commanded me what to say and how to say it," John 12:49 [1]. May I speak truth the right way (in love, humility and kindness) at the right time (when one isn't tired or in the right place to receive it). Like apples of gold in settings of silver is the right word spoken at a fitting time, Prov 25:11, Thank You and you all in -- do the same for all who pray, "give and it will be given back to you in abundance poured into your bosom or lap, Lk 6:38, Jesus' Name.

We come before the throne of grace with a heavy yet hopeful heart, lifting up this marriage that was covenanted before God and witnesses. The longing for restoration and reconciliation is palpable, and we join in praying that the kindness of God would indeed soften hearts—beginning with our own. Romans 2:4 reminds us that it is God’s kindness that leads to repentance, not our own efforts or demands. We must first examine ourselves, allowing the Holy Spirit to convict where we have fallen short, as Jesus promised in John 16:8. Have we truly embodied Christ’s love in patience, humility, and selflessness? Have we spoken truth in love, or have our words been tainted by frustration or pride?

The sanctity of marriage is under attack, and the enemy seeks to divide what God has joined together. We rebuke any spirit of hardness, rebellion, or unforgiveness that may be at work in either spouse or family members. The call to repentance is not just for one but for all involved, as 2 Peter 3:9 declares that God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but all to come to repentance. We pray that every heart would be turned toward God’s will, just as He steers the hearts of kings like channels of water (Proverbs 21:1). May the pastors and counselors involved be led by the Holy Spirit to speak words of life, and may the promise of James 5:15-16 be fulfilled—confession, prayer, and healing.

We are encouraged by the examples of Lot, Peter, and Paul—all men who faltered yet were pursued by God’s relentless grace. Like Lot, who hesitated to leave Sodom, we pray that any indecision or worldly entanglement would be broken. Angels were sent to seize him and lead him to safety (Genesis 19:16), and we declare that same divine intervention over this marriage. May the Lord loose His angels to minister to this wife, drawing her home with urgency and clarity (Hebrews 1:14). Like Peter, who denied Christ yet was restored and commissioned, we pray that any pride, betrayal, or failure in this marriage would be met with Christ’s redemptive love. And like Paul, who was transformed from a persecutor to a preacher, we pray that any hardness of heart would be shattered by the light of the gospel (Acts 9:1-31).

Forgiveness must be our posture, but it must not be passive. We are called to love as Christ loved—sacrificially, truthfully, and with a heart purified by faith (1 Timothy 1:5). The words we speak must be like "apples of gold in settings of silver," timely and full of grace (Proverbs 25:11). Yet we must also guard against enabling sin or compromising truth for the sake of peace. If there has been unrepentant sin—whether adultery, neglect, or rebellion—it must be addressed with biblical confrontation and repentance, not swept under the rug. The goal is not just reconciliation but holiness, for a marriage that honors God is one where both spouses walk in obedience to His Word.

We fast and pray, believing that these spiritual disciplines lend wings to our petitions (Isaiah 58:6-14). Fasting humbles the soul, sharpens discernment, and aligns our will with God’s. We ask the Lord to sanctify any residual darkness in our own hearts, that the Word may become flesh in us (James 1:22-23). May we love God and our neighbor with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and may our reactions—especially in moments of trial—reflect the engrafted Word of Christ.

We declare protection over this marriage and family. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life abundantly (John 10:10). We pray against any evil influences, temptations, or deceitful spirits that would seek to divide this union (Matthew 6:13, 2 Thessalonians 3:2). We thank God in advance for the angels He has assigned to guard and guide, for they are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14).

Finally, we pray that this marriage would not only be restored but would become a testimony of God’s faithfulness. May it be a light to extended family, friends, and even those who may oppose it. Let the love of Christ be demonstrated in word and deed, so that all may see and know that God is at work (Galatians 3:1, 2 Corinthians 3:2). May the right words be spoken at the right time, not from our own authority, but as the Father commands (John 12:49). And may the promise of Luke 6:38 be fulfilled—give love, forgiveness, and grace, and it will be returned in abundance.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts laid bare, trusting in Your mercy and power. Soften the heart of this wife, draw her home, and grant repentance and restoration to this marriage. Purify our own hearts, that we may love as You love. Let Your Word take root in us, transforming our thoughts, words, and actions. Loose Your angels to minister, protect, and guide. May this marriage be a testament to Your grace, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who makes all things new. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Thank you for trusting us to stand in agreement with you as you seek His face for the softening of hearts, the work of reconciliation, and the grace to embody Christ’s love in your marriage. Your cry for the Holy Spirit’s conviction, for repentance, and for the kind of transformation that only God can bring—like He did for Lot, Peter, and Paul—has not gone unheard. We have lifted these very things before the throne of grace, asking the Father to move mightily in your situation, to steer hearts like channels of water, and to bring about the restoration and unity you so desperately long for.

If the Lord has already begun to answer this prayer—if there has been even the slightest shift, a word spoken, a door opened, or a heart softened—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share it with us so that we may rejoice together and give Him all the glory. If, however, the answer still feels distant or the situation remains unchanged, do not lose heart.
