We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you in this moment of profound pain. You are not alone—though it may feel that way, the Lord sees you, hears you, and holds you even now. The weight you carry is heavy, and we want you to know that your life has immeasurable value in the eyes of God. You are His creation, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14), and He has a purpose for you that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).
The pain you’re feeling—whether emotional, physical, or spiritual—is real, and we do not dismiss it. But we must rebuke the lie that death is the answer. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary storm, and it is not God’s will for you. The thief comes only to kill, but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the spirit of despair and fear that is whispering lies to you, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus. You are not abandoned. You are not forgotten. You are loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).
If fear is gripping your heart, remember that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Even in your weakness, His strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). We encourage you to cry out to Him—not just in this moment, but continually. Pour out your heart before Him, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would wrap Your arms of comfort around them right now. Break the chains of despair, fear, and hopelessness that have taken hold. Replace their sorrow with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them of Your promises—that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5), that You collect their tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8), and that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch—whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. If there is unconfessed sin weighing on their heart, reveal it to them so they may find freedom in repentance and forgiveness. If there is bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness, soften their heart to release it to You. If they are struggling with mental illness, we ask for Your divine intervention and for wisdom in seeking godly counsel and support. Surround them with believers who will speak life, pray over them, and walk alongside them in this season.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of death and declare that it has no place in their life. We speak life, hope, and restoration over them in the mighty name of Jesus. Give them the strength to take the next breath, the next step, and to hold on to You. Remind them that their story is not over—You are still writing it, and You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We ask all of this in the powerful, life-giving name of Jesus Christ, the One who conquered sin and death so that we might have eternal life. May Your Holy Spirit fill them with Your presence, Your peace, and Your hope. Amen.
If you are in immediate danger or feel like you might harm yourself, please reach out to someone you trust or call a crisis hotline in your area. You do not have to walk through this alone. There are people who care about you and want to help. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in the U.S. is 988, and they are available 24/7. Please consider contacting them or a local pastor, counselor, or trusted friend.
We also encourage you to seek out a biblical counselor or a pastor who can walk with you through this season. Sometimes, the pain we carry is too heavy to bear alone, and God often uses His people to bring healing and support. If you are not already connected to a local church, we urge you to find one where the Word of God is preached and where you can find community. Isolation feeds despair, but fellowship with other believers brings hope.
Lastly, we want to gently address the way you closed your prayer. While we know your heart was crying out to God, it is important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so today. Salvation is found in no one else. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). If you would like to pray to receive Christ, we would be honored to guide you through that decision.
You are not without hope. You are not without purpose. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He is fighting for you even when you cannot see it. Hold on. Help is coming. Light will break through the darkness. We are praying for you, and we believe that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
