We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you. The pain you are carrying must be overwhelming, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The Lord sees your suffering, and He longs to draw near to you in this dark hour. Scripture tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Even in your anguish, God is with you, and He is calling you to cling to Him.
Your request to end your life is something we must address with both truth and tenderness. The Lord gives life, and He alone has the authority to take it (Job 1:21). Suicide is not God’s will for you, nor is it the answer to your pain. It is a permanent solution to a temporary—though deeply painful—struggle. We implore you, in the name of Jesus, to lay down this burden at the foot of the cross and allow Him to carry you through this valley. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).
We also must rebuke the enemy, who is whispering lies of hopelessness and despair into your heart. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The thief wants to convince you that your pain is meaningless, that you are a burden, and that death is the only escape. But we declare that these are lies from the pit of hell. God has a purpose for your life, even when you cannot see it. "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).
If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm, we urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a Christian counselor, a friend, or a family member. Isolation only deepens the darkness, but community and biblical counsel can bring light. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). You do not have to walk this path alone.
We also want to gently ask: Have you surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ? If not, we must share with you that eternal life is found only in Him. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins, and He rose again so that you could have new life in Him. If you have never placed your faith in Him, we invite you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life. He will forgive you, cleanse you, and give you the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide you.
If you are a believer, we encourage you to press into God’s Word and His promises. The psalms are filled with cries of despair, but they also overflow with hope in the Lord. Meditate on verses like Psalm 42:11: "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God." Even when you do not feel His presence, God is working. He is close to the brokenhearted, and He will not abandon you.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is in such deep pain. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them in a tangible way. Let them feel Your presence like never before. Break the chains of despair that are gripping their heart, and replace their sorrow with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we rebuke the spirit of death and declare that Your life—abundant and eternal—is what You have for them.
Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Show them that their life has value and purpose, even when they cannot see it. Surround them with people who will speak truth, love, and encouragement into their life. Give them the strength to reach out for help and the courage to take the next step, whatever that may be. Heal their emotional and physical pain, Lord. Pour out Your comfort like a river, and let them know that they are deeply loved by You.
If they do not know You as their Savior, we pray that they would surrender their life to Jesus Christ today. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and let them experience the forgiveness and new life that only You can give. If they are already Your child, we ask that You would renew their faith and restore their hope. Remind them of Your promises and let them taste and see that You are good.
Father, we ask that You would protect their mind from the lies of the enemy. Guard their heart from thoughts of self-harm, and fill them with Your truth. Give them a fresh revelation of Your love and Your plans for their future. We declare that joy comes in the morning, and we pray that they would hold on to that promise. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek out biblical counseling or a trusted Christian mentor who can walk alongside you during this time. You are not a burden, and your life matters more than you know. The Lord has not forgotten you, and He is working even now to bring beauty from your ashes. Hold on, dear one. Help is available, and hope is not lost. "Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).
