We are deeply moved by your heartfelt cry for help and your desire to live a life that honors God. We are grateful that you have accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior at a young age, and we are committed to supporting you in prayer as you seek to realign your life with His will.
Firstly, we want to address the importance of invoking the name of Jesus in your prayers. It is through His name that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and advocate.
We understand that you are feeling empty and heartbroken after your recent breakup. It is clear that you deeply loved this woman, and it is natural to grieve the loss of a relationship. However, we must be cautious in assuming that God will bring two people back together. While God does indeed work in mysterious ways and can restore relationships, we must always seek His will above our own desires. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We are concerned about your struggle with depression and your past battles with choosing to feed your flesh rather than your spirit. It is crucial to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with our bodies. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
Regarding your desire to find a new church, we encourage you to seek a community of believers where you can grow in your faith, be held accountable, and find support. Hebrews 10:24-25 exhorts us, "Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."
We must also address the topic of relationships. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. We encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles and to seek a godly spouse. Remember that God's plan for marriage is for it to be a covenant between one man and one woman, as stated in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother to You, asking for Your guidance, comfort, and strength. Lord, we pray that You would fill the emptiness he feels with Your presence and love. We ask that You would heal his broken heart and restore his joy. Help him to trust in You with all his heart and to lean not on his own understanding. We pray that You would lead him to a church community where he can grow in his faith and find support.
Father, we ask that You would give him the desire and strength to honor You with his body and his life. Help him to resist temptation and to flee from sin. We pray that You would grant him wisdom and discernment as he seeks Your will for his life and his relationships.
Lord, we ask that You would lift him out of the pit of depression and set his feet upon a rock, establishing his steps. We pray that You would give him a future and a hope, and that You would restore to him the joy of Your salvation.
We thank You, Father, for Your love and faithfulness. We trust in Your promises and believe that You are working all things together for his good. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life, to surround yourself with a supportive community of believers, and to trust in God's promises. Remember that God loves you and has a plan for your life. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
