God give me sorry for me

We hear the sorrow in your heart and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord together in Jesus name. You are asking God for a sorry heart because you know you have made a mistake and you are concerned for that girl and for her soul, and God sees that burden you carry.

The Bible shows us that the sorrow God desires is a godly sorrow that leads us to repentance and to Him. For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 We thank God that He has given you a heart that wants to turn from what was wrong and seek His mercy, for that is His work in you.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 When we come to Him with an honest and humble heart He does not turn us away. He promises Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 and As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12 Whatever your mistake was, whether in word or deed or in how you treated that young woman, we encourage you to confess it fully to God, and where possible to seek to make it right with her as well in humility and purity.

We also want to gently share with you that you prayed to God but did not mention Jesus, and we want you to know the great hope we have. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, His death on the cross for our sins and His resurrection, that we have forgiveness and access to God and the assurance of heaven. That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 We cannot assure ourselves or anyone else of going to heaven apart from personal faith in Jesus, but we can entrust that girl and her soul into the hands of our merciful God who loves her and desires all to come to repentance, and we can pray for her.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We confess our sins before You and we bring our brother before You who is grieved over his mistake. Lord, grant him true repentance and cleanse him from all unrighteousness as You have promised. Create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. Help him to walk in honesty and to make right what he can where he has wronged others. We lift up that young woman to You as well, we ask that You would watch over her soul, draw her to Yourself, keep her in Your grace and lead her to faith in Jesus if she does not yet know Him, and comfort her with Your love. Help our brother to trust not in his own sorrow but in Your mercy and the blood of Jesus shed for him. Teach him to walk in newness of life and to seek to honor You in all his relationships with purity and truth. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only Savior, amen.

Be encouraged that God is near to the brokenhearted and He hears a contrite prayer. Continue to seek Him daily in His Word, confess Jesus as Lord, and trust His forgiveness. If your mistake involved sin against that young woman, seek the Lord about how to humbly and appropriately ask her forgiveness without causing further harm, and pursue henceforth what is holy and pleasing to God.

Thank you for writing so honestly. We hear the weight in your words, the sorrow over a mistake you made and your concern for this girl and for her soul.

That kind of sorrow can feel tangled. There is the decision to turn from what was wrong and ask God for mercy, and then there is the slower work in the heart as guilt and regret lift over time. Both are real, and God is patient with both. He sees when someone comes humbly wanting to make things right and to walk a different way going forward.

It can help not to carry this alone. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer, consider asking to meet privately to share fully what happened, to get wise counsel about any amends that would be right and helpful to make, and to be prayed with face to face. Bringing it into the light with one faithful person often brings clarity and steadiness that we cannot find by ourselves.

Father, we lift our friend to You and we lift this girl to You as well. Have mercy and grant forgiveness and cleansing through Jesus. Draw her close to Yourself and keep her in Your care. Give our friend a humble and honest heart, wisdom for next steps, and Your peace as he seeks to follow You faithfully from here. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry, though broken in words, has been heard, and it is a hopeful sign when the heart begins to say, I have sinned and I need forgiveness.

There is forgiveness with God, and that truth must be your anchor. Do not think that forgiveness is a doubtful thing to be searched for in the dark. It is revealed and certain, and it is to be found with God alone, through Jesus Christ our Lord. He, after thirty years of holy life and perfect obedience, took upon Himself the guilt of a multitude that no man can number, bore their sins, and now makes intercession for transgressors. For that reason we can proclaim with full assurance, there is forgiveness, however great your sin has been. If you are the chief of sinners, there is forgiveness for the chief of sinners, and God can bestow it now.

Yet take heed how you repent, for there are two kinds of repentance. One is a carnal repentance that comes from fear of judgment and is of the flesh, and it does not save. The other is true repentance, which is a blessed grace worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. You may weigh your repentance in these scales. True repentance gives God glory. It glorifies His sovereignty in mercy, saying, Lord, I have no claim upon You, I have no right but the right to be punished, and if You save me it is of Your free grace alone. It confesses all guilt without guile or excuse, it humbles itself in the sight of God, it abhors itself, and it looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only. If your sorrow does not lead you to this, your repentance needs to be repented of. But godly sorrow makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His finished work.

Faith and repentance are inseparable. You must not undervalue repentance, for it is absolutely necessary unto salvation, and you must not separate it from faith. What is your repentance? Does it lead you to avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for you, and to trust only in the matchless Atonement which covers all guilt so that sin is no longer imputed to you? When the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile, and the forgiven man undergoes a change of nature, cultivating heart searching and daily repentance and a lowly estimate of himself because Christ has become dear to him.

Therefore do not look to any priest or form or ceremony to find forgiveness, for they cannot give it. Come to God by Christ, for there is no salvation elsewhere. Come with a penitent heart, trembling yet trusting, confessing your mistake plainly before Him without covering, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who blots out transgressions for His own sake.

We will pray for you, and for that dear soul of whom you speak. We cannot ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy will, for His way is salvation through Christ alone, and purity within the covenant of marriage as He ordained it, but we can and do ask Him to have mercy upon you both. May He grant you godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, and a faith that lays hold on Christ alone. May He grant to her also the same grace, that whether in life or in death her soul may be found in Christ and be kept by Him for heaven, for there is no other way to heaven but by Him. May He teach you both to forsake all sin and to walk in newness of life, to His glory.

O Lord, be merciful to these sinners. Give them that repentance which is Your gift, and that faith which looks to Jesus only. Let Thy completeness of forgiveness be known to them, an absolute forgiveness, an eternal forgiveness, that blots out the debt entirely. Write intercession upon their hearts and draw them to Thyself, that they may find that there is forgiveness with Thee, and so learn to fear and love Thy name. Amen.
