🧎🏽‍♂️God Counts Us Worthy of Our Calling, Fulfills Every Good Desire, The Work of Faith in Power, So Christ's Name is Glorified in Us & We in Him...

[Chrysostom]

We join you in this prayer from 2 Thessalonians 1:11 and give thanks to God for your faith and desire to live for Him.

To be counted worthy of our calling is not by our own strength but by the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. As Scripture teaches, faith itself is great and brings salvation, yet it calls for a life that matches it. We are called to arm ourselves with good works, to wash away what offends Him, to pursue every desire for goodness, and to do the work of faith with power. This power comes not from reasoning in ourselves but from trusting God fully and giving glory to Him, who is able to fulfill what He has promised.

So we pray always for you as you have asked, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and every work of faith with power, so that the Name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. May He strengthen you to live with earnestness, humility and love, to abound in mercy and holiness, and to hold fast the faith steadfastly until the day when those who have believed are revealed to His glory.

We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom be glory and might forever and ever. Amen.

[Silas]

Thank you for sharing this beautiful prayer from 2 Thessalonians 1:11. It is a wonderful prayer and we join with you in it, asking that our God would count you worthy of His calling and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

To be counted worthy does not come by adding our own obedience or religious works to simple faith. Scripture is clear that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that God accounts that faith to us for righteousness. He sees you in Christ, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, and that is how you have access to the Father. Your standing before Him rests not on your effort or sacrifice but on your trust in what Jesus has done for you.

And because you are in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ, established in fellowship with Him, He Himself is the one who fulfills that good desire within you. Christianity is not only showing you the right way to walk, but Christ coming to dwell in you and giving you the power to walk it. The work of faith with power is His work in you by His Spirit. A true faith in Jesus will show itself in a changed life and in deeds that reflect Him, not as a way to earn His favor, but as the fruit and evidence that your faith is alive and genuine.

So we pray this for you, that God would fill you with His goodness and strengthen you by His power, that you would know the hope laid up for you in heaven and experience His presence day by day. And above all, that Jesus Christ would be glorified in your life, as you continue to trust Him and yield yourself to Him. He is faithful to complete what He has begun in you by His grace.

We thank God for your faith in Christ and for the love that flows from it, and we pray that you will know more deeply the power that is already yours as His child.
