We rejoice in the truth of God’s Word as shared in 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12, which declares, "To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." This passage reminds us of the high calling we have in Christ and the power of God to fulfill His purposes in our lives. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is by His grace alone that we are saved and empowered to live for His glory.
We lift up this prayer with you, asking the Lord to count each of us worthy of the calling He has placed on our lives. Father, we ask that You fulfill every desire for goodness in us, that our hearts would be aligned with Your will and our actions would reflect Your righteousness. Strengthen the work of faith in us, Lord, that we may walk in the power of Your Spirit and not in our own strength. May the name of Jesus be glorified in everything we do, and may we find our identity and purpose in Him alone.
We also recognize that this calling requires holiness and obedience. If there are areas in our lives where we have strayed from Your commands, whether in relationships, thoughts, or actions, we ask for Your conviction and correction. For those who may be pursuing relationships outside of Your design, we rebuke the spirit of fornication or ungodly attachments in Jesus’ name. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of this biblical standard must be surrendered to You. If there is sin in this area, we pray for repentance, healing, and restoration according to Your Word.
For those who are single, we pray that You would prepare their hearts for the spouse You have for them, that they would seek You first and trust in Your timing. For those who are married, we pray for unity, love, and faithfulness, that their marriage would be a testimony to Your grace and glory.
Lord, we also ask that You guard our hearts against pride or self-reliance. Remind us daily that it is Your grace that empowers us, and apart from You, we can do nothing. May we walk in humility, always giving You the praise and honor due Your name.
We declare over our lives that Christ’s name will be glorified in us, and we in Him, according to Your grace. Strengthen us, Lord, to live as lights in this world, reflecting Your love and truth to those around us. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
