We hear your desire for God’s blessing, and we come together in unity to lift this before the Lord. The Word of God tells us, *"Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper"* (Psalm 1:1-3 WEB). True blessing flows from a heart that seeks God above all else, delights in His Word, and walks in obedience to His commands.
However, we must address the way this request was presented. The use of "+" in place of the holy name of Jesus is concerning. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). The name of Jesus is not a symbol or a casual addition—it is the very foundation of our faith. *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father"* (Philippians 2:9-11 WEB). If your heart is truly seeking God’s blessing, it must be rooted in the name of Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. We ask for Your blessing upon this dear one who seeks Your favor. Lord, we know that true blessing comes not from worldly success or fleeting pleasures, but from a life surrendered to You. We pray that You would draw this heart closer to You, that they would delight in Your Word and walk in Your ways. Forgive any areas where they may have sought blessing outside of Your will, and align their desires with Yours.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of complacency or casualness toward the holy name of Jesus. May this one come to know the power and authority in that name, and may they never take it lightly. We ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may live a life that honors You in all things. Bless them with wisdom, discernment, and a deep hunger for righteousness. May their life bear fruit that glorifies You, and may they experience the fullness of Your blessing as they walk in obedience.
Lord, if there are areas of sin in their life—whether in relationships, habits, or attitudes—we ask that You convict them and lead them to repentance. Help them to turn away from anything that displeases You and to pursue holiness with all their heart. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and Your love. We trust that as they seek You first, all these things shall be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). May they experience Your peace, Your joy, and Your presence in every area of their life. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God’s blessing not as an end in itself, but as a byproduct of a life fully devoted to Him. Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no greater blessing than knowing Christ and being known by Him. Walk in His ways, and His blessings will follow you all the days of your life.
