Harold
Faithful Servant
In our church here in Arkansas, a county deputy came in to arrest our pastor and the leaders of the church today, for teaching the bible, and for crimes against the nation. It was all set up of course, the pastor had him do this to show us what it was like in other areas of the world. He was a missionary in Africa, and one of the young women he had pastored over in another church was there and is currently a missionary in another country. I am not supposed to say where, it may do harm to those she is around.
What he told us, was that 480 people are killed every day world wide for proffessing a belief in Jesus Christ. That is 3360 a week, or 174,720 a year, and some say that is low and may be as high as 250,000 a year. Some are beaten, imprisoned, their children taken away from them, homes taken away, or jobs. All for their belief in the One True God. In the time that it takes you to read this letter, one or two people will have been martered.
God has blessed this nation and us so much, we don't have any of those worries. This got me to doing alot of thinking about my own priorities, and my own walk with God, and the state of our nation. We have been this blessed, yet we as a nation are calling for the removal of almost every sign of Him. We don't want Him in our schools, town squares, courthouses, on our money, and alot of times in our lives. We demand the right to kill infants, the right to marry someone of the same sex, our daughters have the right to an underage abortion without our knowledge or consent, but can't be given an aspirin for a headache.
Everyone does have the right to make their own choices, even God gives man freewill, but to pass laws making it acceptable to man is wrong. My son plays on a high school basketball team, and after the game they kneel at the half court line to give their thanks and praise to God in prayer. This is voluntary, but I wonder how long this will be allowed, because someone may be offended.
I'd better cut it a little shorter here, or we'll all be here all night. The title to this letter was God bless America, He has, and I will be praying tonight and other nights that He still will. I live in a country where I don't have to worry about being arrested for my belief in God. I can raise my hands in praise, without worrying about having them put in handcuffs, but how long will that be if the same country He has blessed so richly keeps disowning Him. I'm tired of the freedom of people to demand their rights means the imprisonment and the erradication of God in our nation and culture.
Please, when you pray tonight, remember to pray for our elections, and no matter who may win, we need to keep praying for our nation. I'm afraid that we are at the edge of the cliff, if not falling over the edge already.
