Gifts

I would like god to show me what gifts he has given me in terms of a career. Also will you please pray that I will remember what I have learnt in terms of my driving theory test. I'm still studying for it.

We join with you in bringing these requests before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for sharing them with us.

We hear your desire to understand the gifts God has given you for your career, and your need for help as you study for your driving theory test. These are good and practical things to bring to the Lord, for He cares about every area of our lives.

Scripture tells us that God has intentionally gifted each of us to serve Him and others. Romans 12:6 says Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, let us use them accordingly. And 1 Peter 4:10 reminds us As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. We also read in Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. Your gifts are not random, they were given by God with purpose, to glorify Him and to be a blessing in the work He calls you to do. We encourage you to seek Him not only for what career will benefit you, but for where He can best use you for His glory. Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established. As you pray, ask for wisdom and open doors, and also seek counsel from mature believers, consider what you enjoy and do well, and what needs you see around you that you can meet with diligence and integrity. Colossians 3:23 teaches Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.

Concerning your studies, we understand the pressure of trying to remember so much information. God honors diligence and He gives wisdom to those who ask. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We encourage you to continue to study faithfully and to ask God to strengthen your mind and help you retain what you have learned, trusting that your effort is also an act of stewardship.

We also want to gently point out that your request mentions god but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to share lovingly that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because of what Jesus did on the cross, dying for our sins and rising again, that we can come boldly to God in prayer. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your sins, and receive the gift of eternal life.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You and thank You that You are the giver of every good gift. Lord, reveal to them the gifts and talents You have placed within them. Give them wisdom and discernment to understand how You would have them use those gifts in a career that honors You and serves others. Lead them and guide their steps, and close doors that are not of You and open the right doors in Your perfect timing. We also ask for Your help as they study for their driving theory test. Grant them a clear mind, good understanding, and the ability to remember what they have learned. Help them to study with diligence and peace, not with anxiety, and to trust You with the outcome. We ask that You would deepen their relationship with You through Jesus Christ, that they would know Your love and salvation more fully. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, amen.

We're grateful you wrote and let us pray with you about both of these.

Wanting to understand your gifts for work is a good and honest desire. We often notice those gifts less by trying to figure them out all at once and more by paying attention over time to what God has already put in your hands. What do others often thank you for, what kind of needs do you notice quickly, what work leaves you encouraged rather than drained even when it is hard. It can help to ask a couple of trusted people who know you well what strengths they see in you, and to try serving in small, practical ways where those strengths get used. That lived experience, week by week, tends to clarify direction more than waiting for a single sudden answer.

For your theory test, we hear how much effort you are putting into studying. A steady rhythm often helps memory more than long cramming, short focused sessions with practice questions and good rest before the test. Keep doing the faithful work you are doing.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. Give clarity and peace as You show next steps for work, and help the gifts You have given to become clearer through everyday faithfulness. Calm the mind while studying and help recall come steadily on the day of the test. Lead with wisdom and kindness in all of it. Amen.

Your request concerning the gifts God has entrusted to you for your calling in life, and your studies for the driving theory test, has been heard with prayerful care.

It is wise and right to ask the Lord what He would have you do with what He has given you. The Scripture reminds us that every good gift comes from His hand, though we often forget the Giver. We are prone to think our abilities are our own, and to use them to feed pride or to serve other masters, and this is to prepare for Baal what God meant for His own glory. Let this be your first prayer, not only to know what your gifts are, but to have grace to use them wholly for Him who gave them. If gifts are misused, the Lord may withdraw them, but if they are laid at His feet in humility, He will multiply their usefulness. Above all gifts, remember the unspeakable gift, which is Christ Himself. He is perfect God and perfect Man, given for a world undone, and with Him God freely gives us all things. When you have thanked God for Christ, all other gifts find their proper place and proportion.

You ask also to know your career. Hear what the Word says, My son, give me thine heart. The Lord first asks for your heart, before He asks for your hands. When the heart is given to Christ by faith, then every lawful calling becomes a high and heavenly calling, a calling from God and to God. Whether you teach, or labour with your hands, or serve in any other sphere, put your heart into the work as unto the Lord. Seek to be agreed with God about your utter dependence upon Him, and ask Him to show you where diligence, honesty and love for your neighbour may best be exercised for His glory. He who calls effectually by His Spirit also guides step by step those who wait upon Him.

For your theory test, we will pray that the Lord will strengthen your mind to remember what you have learned and to learn what is yet before you. Study with care and faithfulness, for God blesses thorough work, and pray as you study that He would keep your thoughts clear and settled.

Let us pray together. O Father, we thank You for Your unspeakable gift, Your Son Jesus Christ, in whom we have all we need. We thank You that every ability and opportunity we possess comes from Your generous hand. We ask for this dear one, that You would give wisdom to discern the gifts You have given, and show the path where those gifts may be used in honest, fruitful labour to Your honour and for the good of others. Keep this heart from pride and from turning Your gifts to any lesser purpose. Give a willing heart that is fully given to You. And in the present studies, grant clearness of mind, faithful memory, and quiet confidence, that what has been learned may be recalled and that diligence may be rewarded. Lead this life in Your way, for Your glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is good that you want to understand how God has gifted you and to use what He has given you well, and I am glad to pray with you for both of these needs.

Scripture teaches that God does give gifts to His people, but it also teaches us how to think about them rightly. As Paul writes, we are to desire the best gifts, and yet he shows us a more excellent way. Even if someone could speak with the tongues of angels or have faith to move mountains, without love that person is nothing. The Corinthians were proud over their gifts, especially the lesser gifts, and Paul corrected them to show that love is the greatest gift and the purpose of every other gift. This means that the question of career is not only what you are good at, but how God can use what you are good at in love to serve others and to build up His church. Every good ability comes from Him, and He is most honored when we use those abilities with humility and charity.

As you seek direction for your work, pray not only for clarity about your strengths, but for wisdom to see where those strengths meet real needs around you. Talk with mature believers who know you, be faithful in small responsibilities, and be willing to try and to learn. God often makes our calling clear as we walk faithfully day by day, using what we have now for the good of others. Ask Him to show you where you can serve with love, and to close doors that are not from Him and open the ones that are.

For your driving theory test, I will pray that God will help you to remember what you have studied and to learn with understanding. One of the early teachings reminds us not to be careless hearers who go away bearing nothing, but to receive truth little by little so that it may be intelligible and stay in our memory. That is good wisdom for study as well. Continue to be diligent, to review a little at a time, to rest well, and to ask God for a clear mind and peace as you prepare and when you take the test.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, thank you for the gifts you have given to this dear one by your grace. Show clearly what those gifts are and how they can be used in love to serve you and to serve others, and guide every step toward the work you have prepared. Give wisdom for decisions about a career, and give humility and joy in using whatever you provide. I also ask that you help with study for the driving theory test. Grant a steady mind, good understanding, and faithful memory of what has been learned. Take away anxiety and grant peace and diligence until the work is complete. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope and salvation. Amen.

It is encouraging that you want to understand how God has gifted you and to use what He has given you well. The Bible teaches that there are many different kinds of gifts, but they all come from the same Spirit, and there are different ways to serve, but the same Lord, and different ways God works, but the same God who works in all. No one person has every gift. The Holy Spirit gives to each person as He wills, in His sovereignty, and places each one in the body as it pleases Him. That means your place and your gifts are not an accident, and they are not something you have to force or demand. You can earnestly desire and ask God for what is best, especially those gifts that build up others.

Scripture also teaches that there is something even more excellent than any gift, and that is love. Gifts are needed and important for now, but they will one day pass away when we no longer need them. Love never fails and remains. So as you seek direction for a career, keep both truths together. Ask God not only what you are good at, but where love can be expressed through you to serve others and to strengthen the church. A helpful way to discern this is to pray for wisdom, to notice what God has already equipped you to do with joy and fruitfulness, to listen to the counsel of mature believers who see your life, and to be faithful in the opportunities already in front of you. Whatever gift you have, even if it seems less visible than others, is important for the whole body, and God gives honor to faithful use of it.

For your driving theory test, God cares about the practical details of your life as well. It is right to study diligently and to ask Him for help to remember what you have learned, for steadiness and peace as you prepare and when you take the test.

Let us pray together. Father, thank you for this person who wants to follow you. Show clearly the gifts you have given by your Spirit, and guide into the work where those gifts can be used to serve others and to honor you. Give wisdom to recognize open doors, humility to grow, and love to be the motive in all things. Help also in the time of study, grant understanding and the ability to recall what has been learned, and give peace and a clear mind. Lead and provide according to your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift you up and bring before the Lord your desire for Him to show you what gifts He has given you in terms of a career and your request that He would help you remember what you have learned as you continue to study for your driving theory test.

We have prayed that God will make clear to you how He has gifted you and how He desires you to use those gifts for His glory and for your good, according to what is written in Rom 12:6 and 1 Peter 4:10, and that He will grant you wisdom and understanding and help you retain what you have studied, according to James 1:5. We have asked Him to give you peace as you prepare, to strengthen your memory, and to guide your steps toward the career He has prepared for you.

If your request was answered and the Lord has revealed more to you about your gifts or has helped you in your studying and with your test, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will continue to lead you, give you clarity and recall in your studies, and open the doors He has for your future. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
