Getting the Job that was interviewed for

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord, I lift up my husband before you, exactly two weeks ago he interviewed for a manager role after being let go by his previous job, I pray Father that he gets the job in Jesus name, provide favor upon him when the boss looks at his application they will see he’s the right person for the position. Father I pray by July he will start the job and he will achieve his dream job. In Jesus name amen

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of faith, lifting up this earnest prayer for your husband’s employment. Father God, we know that You hold every opportunity in Your hands, and we trust in Your perfect timing and provision. We ask that You would indeed open this door for him, granting him favor in the eyes of those making the decision. Let his skills, experience, and character shine brightly so that they recognize him as the right person for this role.

The scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We declare this truth over his situation, believing that You are directing his steps even now. We also hold fast to Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." You are not only aware of his financial needs but also his desire to provide for his family and fulfill the calling You’ve placed on his life.

We pray that if this is the position You have ordained for him, the offer would come swiftly, by July, as you’ve asked, but even more so, that it would align with Your perfect will for his career and his family. If there is any hesitation in his heart or any area where he needs to grow, reveal it to him so that he may walk in full confidence and readiness.

We also lift up his emotional and spiritual well-being during this time of waiting. It can be discouraging to face uncertainty, but we pray that he would rest in Your promises and find peace in Your presence. Remind him daily of Your faithfulness, Lord, and let him feel Your nearness as he waits.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of doubt, fear, or delay that may be trying to hinder this process. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). We stand in agreement with this prayer, believing that You are moving on his behalf.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’ve been holding this with you since we read your request. Waiting after an interview can feel like a stretched-out silence, and we know it weighs on both of you, especially after the shock of being let go. It’s worth remembering that the upheaval your husband experienced was a real loss, not just of income but of security and daily rhythm. Many people feel disoriented and even a little raw during such transitions, and that isn’t a sign of weak faith; it’s simply part of how we’re made. Right now the two of you are in the gap between what was and what will be, and it’s okay to name that while staying anchored in the God who goes before you.

One practical thing that can help during the wait is to gently talk through what you both need most in the coming weeks, even apart from the job. Keeping a simple routine, staying connected to a few trusted friends at church, and guarding against the “what if” spiral can steady you while you wait. If discouragement lingers, consider letting your pastor or a mature couple know what you’re walking through, not to fix it, but so you’re not carrying it alone.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this husband to You. You see his skills, his work ethic, and the weight he carries as a provider. Please grant him favor in the eyes of this employer, and if this is the role You have for him, open the door clearly. While they wait, fill this couple with Your peace, the kind that doesn’t depend on circumstances. Guard their minds from fear and their hearts from despair. Meet every practical need in the meantime, and remind them that their worth is never defined by a title or a paycheck but by the love You’ve already shown them. We trust You with the outcome, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

It is well that you have brought this matter before the throne of grace, for every good and perfect gift descends from the Father of lights. The Lord often permits His children to walk through the valley of unemployment and closed doors, that they may learn to lean not on their own understanding but to trust Him with a mightier grip. Think much of the blessed reality that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; though the vision tarry, it will surely come. The months of suspense are not wasted when they teach us to say, “The God of my mercy will prevent me,” for He goes before His own, preparing the way and leveling mountains. Your husband's character, tried by fire, may now be ripening like the sycamore fig that must be bruised to yield its sweetness.

Pray on, and when you pray, take up the intercessory posture of Job, who forgot not his friends even when his own captivity pressed sore upon him. The Lord turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and as your soul expands in loving prayer for others, so your own burden may be lifted. Do not fix your hope upon the opening of one single door, as though the Almighty lacked alternative ways of providing. If this post comes, shout to the Lord with a grateful heart; if it passes by, still bow before the wisdom that cannot err. The good things of the covenant are of a higher sort, and the everlasting arms beneath you are steadier than any earthly security. Yet we may ask for temporal favors in the name of the Lord Jesus, not in the spirit of a demand but as children who seek bread from their Father. Bring your husband daily to the throne, and mingle your petitions with praise, for in all his ways let him acknowledge Jehovah, and He shall direct his path. Hope therefore in the Lord, whose compassions fail not; His mercy often breaks forth most gloriously when midnight has grown thickest, and then the dawning answers the prayer that would not let Him go.

You have brought your husband before the Lord, and this is good, for the Father alone reveals what is hidden from human eyes. The favor you seek is not a matter of human opinion, but a divine doctrine; if it is given, it comes not from flattering words but from the One who knows what is best for your household. Yet be on guard, for calamities often test the soul, and a wife's counsel in such times can either build a strong wall or thrust her husband into a pit. I do not say this to irritate the husband against the wife, but that you should act willingly, for your own sake, not his, to free you from the parade of this life.

Consider Job's moderation, how he silenced his wife when she spoke as one of the foolish women. A wife is a great good, but also a great evil if she compels her husband to impatience or to compromise his faith for the sake of provision. The devil lays a grievous snare when he invests a sin with a show of devotion; many, from a love of continence or supposed piety, have driven their spouses into worse destruction. Take heed, then, that your prayer does not become a demand that leads your husband away from the narrow path. The Lord knows those who are His; if this position is granted, let it be received as a debt of love, not a favor, and let your husband serve as one who manages his household not by human scheming but by divine ordinance. Do not run ahead of God's timing, for the testimony of His provision will be trustworthy when it is not from human friendship but from His own hand.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
