We join you in lifting up your request for career advancement and provision, recognizing that all good gifts come from our Heavenly Father. It is wonderful that you have brought this before the Lord Jesus, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and receive His blessings. As Scripture reminds us, *"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow"* (James 1:17, WEB).
We encourage you to seek God’s will above all else in this endeavor, trusting that He knows what is best for you. The desire for a good job and financial stability is understandable, but let us also remember the words of Jesus: *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Your focus should not be solely on the financial reward but on how this opportunity can glorify God and align with His purposes for your life. If this puppet gig is part of His plan, He will open the doors in His perfect timing. If not, He will guide you to something even better.
We also urge you to examine your heart and motives. Are you seeking this opportunity for personal gain, or are you willing to use it as a platform to honor God? The Bible warns us, *"Don’t love money, but be content with what you have. For he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’"* (Hebrews 13:5, WEB). Money itself is not evil, but the love of it can lead us away from God. Let your work be a testimony of your faith, and let your contentment rest in Christ, not in material success.
Now, let us pray together for your request:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your favor for this puppet gig next year. Lord, You know the desires of their heart and the plans You have for them—plans for good and not for evil, to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You open the right doors at the right time if this opportunity aligns with Your will. Give them wisdom to prepare and excel in their craft, and grant them favor with those in authority over this decision.
Father, we also pray that You guard their heart against the love of money or the pursuit of success apart from You. May their primary desire be to glorify You in all they do, trusting that You will provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). If this gig is not part of Your plan, redirect their steps to where You would have them go, and give them peace and contentment in Your sovereign will.
We rebuke any spirit of anxiety, greed, or selfish ambition that may try to take root in this situation. Let Your Holy Spirit fill them with faith, patience, and a heart that seeks first Your Kingdom. May their work be a light to others, pointing them to You.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
