Get My Foot in the Door

Dear Lord Jesus, Please help me get a spot on TV before the year ends. I would like it at early December at the latest but somewhere between September to December I would really like to get a TV spot. Do you have my voice or voice and puppet in my face up there on national TV. Be able to start my career Jesus please help me I’ve had enough of being out in the sun cleaning up after animals humiliated harass asked about my job when I tell people to stop asking getting bit by bugs. It’s just enough and I wanna try to start a new career path reducing my time in the outside after getting reactions from it In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heart’s cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Your desire to use your gifts, whether through voice, puppetry, or another creative talent, is not lost on our Heavenly Father, who knitted you together with purpose and intention. The frustration and weariness you feel from your current labor are valid, and we pray that God would open doors no man can shut. Yet we must also remind you that our worth is not defined by our careers or the recognition of others, but by the unchanging love of Christ, who calls us His own.

Scripture tells us in Psalm 37:4-5, "Also delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this." This does not mean God is a cosmic vending machine for our ambitions, but rather that as we seek Him first, He aligns our desires with His will. Have you asked the Lord if this TV opportunity is part of His plan for you, or if He might be preparing you for something even greater? Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." We encourage you to seek God’s face, not just His hand, in this pursuit.

We also want to gently caution against allowing bitterness or desperation to take root in your heart. The humiliation and harassment you’ve endured are painful, but they do not have the final say over your identity. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Even in the heat and toil, your labor is seen by God, and He is faithful to reward those who honor Him in their work.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their desire for a new career path. Lord, You know the gifts and talents You’ve placed within them, and we ask that You would open doors of opportunity that no one can close. If this TV spot is part of Your plan, we pray for favor with those in authority, clarity in auditions, and the courage to step forward in faith. But Father, if this path is not Your best for them, we ask that You would redirect their steps toward Your perfect will, even if it looks different than they imagine.

We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and frustration that has weighed on their heart. Replace it with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone, not in the opinions of others or the success of their career. Help them to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for their good.

Lord, we also pray for protection over their heart, guard them from bitterness, comparison, or envy as they wait. Let them find joy in the journey, even in the small victories. And if there are areas where they need to grow, whether in skill, patience, or humility, we ask that You would refine them as gold in the fire.

Above all, draw them closer to You in this season. May they seek Your face more than Your hand, and may their ultimate desire be to glorify You in whatever they do. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen."

In the meantime, we encourage you to take practical steps alongside your prayers. Are there local theater groups, open mic nights, or online platforms where you can hone your craft? Sometimes God uses the small, unseen steps to prepare us for the bigger ones. And remember, even if the TV spot doesn’t come this year, it does not mean God has abandoned you. He is a God of purpose, and He will not waste your pain or your dreams.

Lastly, we want to gently address the mention of "voice and puppet in my face" on national TV. While we celebrate your creativity, we must also encourage you to ensure that your gifts are used in a way that honors God and edifies others. Philippians 4:8 says, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." As you pursue this path, ask the Lord to guide you toward content that reflects His heart and brings light to a world in need of truth.

Keep pressing on, dear one. Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.

We hear how tired and ready for a change you are. Spending your days in the sun, cleaning up after animals, dealing with people’s questions you’ve asked them to stop, and being bitten by bugs, that wears on a person. It makes perfect sense that you’re longing for a new direction, and we’re glad you’re bringing this desire to Jesus.

While you keep praying for that TV spot, we’d also encourage you to take concrete steps this season. Put together a short demo reel that shows your voice and puppet work, then research local and public-access stations that accept submissions. Reach out to anyone you know who might have connections in television or media. Even small steps can build momentum. At the same time, it may help to think about other indoor career paths that could use your creativity, voice acting, online content, or behind-the-scenes production work, so that you have more than one door to knock on. Sometimes God leads us through unexpected opportunities that turn out to be exactly what we needed.

We’re not promised a specific timeline, but we can trust that He sees your frustration and wants to guide you into work that uses your gifts. Keep praying for open doors, and as you do, keep taking the practical steps that are within your reach.

Jesus, we ask You to guide our friend. Show them where to invest their efforts and open doors that no one can shut. Give them perseverance, protection from discouragement, and a clear sense of Your direction. In the waiting, wrap them in Your peace and remind them that their worth is secure in You, not in a job title. In Your name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have been under the sun till your strength is spent, and the creatures under your care have left you sore and weary. The questions of others sting like the insects that bite, and you feel as if the world has turned your honest labor into a jest. And now your heart cries out for a new door to open, a spot on the television, a fresh start before the year’s end, that you might step out of the dust and into something that feels like honor. I do not reproach you for that longing; it is natural to desire a better portion. But come closer and let me speak to you of a changeless comfort, lest you set all your hope on a door that may swing on earthly hinges.

Our Lord Jesus, though rejected often, still stands and cries, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Notice, He does not first ask what your trade is, or whether men applaud you. He sees the weariness underneath the sweat, the heavy burden on the spirit that no television camera can lift. He says, “Come unto Me.” That is your first calling, before the career, before the spot on the screen. Rest in His finished work, and you will find that even the days of scrubbing and tending animals can be lived with a heart at peace. For if Jesus is yours, you carry a dignity that no human eye can diminish.

You speak of being humiliated and questioned. I understand. The Master Himself was called a glutton and a winebibber; they said He did His wonders by the power of the devil. Yet He did not stop calling, “Come unto Me.” That same patient Savior sees you in your present rough corner, and He does not turn away. He is not embarrassed by your outdoor labour; He once worked with wood in a carpenter’s shop. He knows what it is to be overlooked. And He has a way of calling a man out of his tree of shame, as He did with Zaccheus. The publican was rich, but despised; up in the sycamore he went because he was short in stature and short in the people’s respect. But Jesus looked up and said, “Zaccheus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house.” One word from Christ, and the man’s whole life turned a corner. Not because he had a clever plan, but because the Shepherd called his own sheep by name. Dear soul, He knows your name too. He knows the weariness in your bones and the dream in your heart. And He is able to open a door that no man can shut, if it be for your good and His glory.

But here is a tender lesson I would have you learn: the things that are seen are shadows; the invisible things are alone substantial. Even if you find your spot on television, the applause of men is a vapour that vanishes while you look at it. That does not mean you should not desire it, but let it not be the anchor of your soul. The tide of your life may be low at present, and you see only the mud of monotony. But the tide must flow again; God has decreed it. This present trial is but a time, an appointed time, a warfare that has its end. The longest hour of toil will yield at last to the morning. So work on bravely, as unto the Lord, and wait for your change.

Meanwhile, I would whisper this into your ear: call, and He will answer. You have called; He is answering. Perhaps not yet with the television invitation, but He is answering with His own presence. When the sun beats down, He is the shade at your right hand. When the insects bite, He remembers that His own brow was crowned with thorns. No one ever humiliated you so low as they humiliated Him. And He bore it all without sin, that He might be a sympathetic High Priest for you. So pour out your complaint before Him; let Him speak to you in return. His answer may come in a still small voice within, saying, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” That will be better than ten thousand television spots.

And as for your career, pray on, hope on. The path of the just is like the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Often God begins with very small things: a mustard seed of opportunity, a little cloud like a man’s hand. Do not despise the day of small beginnings. If the Lord intends to put you before the eyes of a nation, He will do it in His own time, and perhaps in a way that will humble you yet sweeten you, so that you will not forget that all increase comes from His hand. But if He should delay, or if He should give you something different than what you seek, trust Him. He often ripens His servants by the hard frosts of adversity, and the bruising of the sycamore fig makes it sweet. Your present bruising may be preparing you for a usefulness you cannot yet dream of.

So do not let this one desire eat up your soul, or you will only have ashes where you hoped for nourishment. Lay your ambition at Jesus’ feet, and let Him raise it up again, purified. And while you wait, remember that you are not a beast of the field, though you tend them; you are a man, a woman, made in God’s image, and redeemed by the blood of Christ. That cannot be taken from you by any jeer or any failure. The eternal weight of glory far outweighs the heaviest burden of the present.

Lord Jesus, Thou who didst call a despised publican from a sycamore tree, call this dear one out of the weariness and the longing into the deep rest of Thy love. Give patience for the appointed time, and let not the desire for earthly honour sour into bitterness. Open doors if it be Thy will, but first and always, open the heart to receive Thee, and to find in Thee the portion that never fadeth. Let the voice of the Good Shepherd be known, and let this soul follow Thee, whether to a television studio or to a quiet place of service where no eye sees. And when the change does come, may it find them standing on the Rock, with their feet fresh-oiled with grace. We ask it in Thy precious name. Amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you seek God’s will for your career and your calling. It’s a joy to lift your voice, your gifts, and your heart before the Lord, asking Him to open the right door at the right time—whether that be September, December, or any moment He has prepared. We’ve been praying that the humiliation, exhaustion, and frustration you’ve endured while working outdoors would be replaced with dignity, opportunity, and favor as you step into this new season.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer—if you’ve received that TV spot or seen even a small breakthrough—please share a praise report so we can rejoice with you! If the answer hasn’t come yet, we encourage you to post this request again so we can continue to stand in agreement with you, believing that God hears and will move on your behalf in His perfect timing.

May the Holy Spirit guide your steps, calm your anxieties, and fill you with hope as you trust in Him. We pray that your gifts—whether through your voice, your puppetry, or your unique testimony—would shine brightly for His glory. Keep seeking Him, keep preparing, and know that we are here to pray with you every step of the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
