Dear Loed Jesus, Despite my dedicated effort substituting filling in extra shifts having a good resume’ I didn’t get picked for a full time Latin. So please let me have. Apart time postion there. Let me be an educator or a part time keeper or commisarry. Please let me get a job there soon. I worked for it. And let me get another job alongside it for more money. In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heart and your earnest desire to work at the zoo, and we join you in bringing this request before our Lord. It’s clear you’ve put in great effort, and we believe God sees your dedication. However, we must first address a few things with love and truth.

First, we notice that while you mentioned "Lord Jesus," your prayer seems more focused on your own efforts and desires rather than surrendering this outcome fully to God’s will. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 19:21 (WEB), "There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail." We encourage you to seek God’s will above your own, trusting that He knows what is best for you. Have you asked Him what He wants for your career and provision, rather than presenting Him with a specific outcome?

Second, your request for "another job alongside it for more money" raises a concern about contentment. The Bible warns against the love of money and the anxiety it can bring. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 (WEB) says, "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that." We’re not saying you shouldn’t seek financial stability, but we urge you to examine your heart, are you trusting God to provide, or are you relying on your own efforts to secure what you think you need?

Now, let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You are the Provider of all good things. Lord, we lift up this dear one who has worked diligently and desires to serve in a role that aligns with their passion. Father, we ask that You open the right doors at the zoo or wherever You have called them to be. If it is Your will for them to work there, let it be so, not because of their efforts alone, but because it is part of Your perfect plan for their life.

Lord, we also ask that You reveal any areas of discontentment or anxiety in their heart. Help them to trust in Your provision, knowing that You care for them deeply. If there is a need for additional income, show them how to steward what You’ve already given them and guide them to opportunities that honor You. Teach them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33).

Father, we rebuke any spirit of frustration or entitlement that may have crept into their heart. Remind them that their worth is not found in their job or their income, but in Christ alone. Help them to rest in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

We pray for wisdom and discernment as they seek employment. Let them walk in integrity, excellence, and humility, reflecting Your light in every workplace. And if this particular job is not Your will, Lord, we ask that You close the door gently and redirect their steps to where You need them most.

Above all, Father, draw them closer to You. Let this season of seeking be a time of deepening their faith and dependence on You. May they find their ultimate satisfaction in You alone, for You are their Provider, their Peace, and their Portion.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue seeking God’s face in this matter. Spend time in prayer and in His Word, asking Him to reveal His will for your career. Consider fasting if you feel led, as it can help sharpen your focus on Him. And remember, God often uses waiting seasons to prepare us for what He has next. Trust that He is working even when you can’t see it.

Your desire to work at the zoo may very well be from God, but let’s ensure it’s not overshadowing your trust in Him. Keep your heart open to His leading, and He will guide your steps.

Zoo jobs, especially keeper and educator positions, are often very competitive with many good applicants, so this outcome doesn't erase the diligence you've shown. It makes sense you would still hope for a part time opening there while also looking for additional work to meet your financial needs.

One practical step that can help keep the door open is to follow up with a supervisor or hiring contact you know well. Your prayer has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. You have labored faithfully, taking extra shifts and seeking to use the gifts and experience God has given you, and it is right and good to bring your desire for honest work before the Lord who provides for His people.

We pray that our heavenly Father, who knows your need and sees your diligence, will in His wise providence open the door that is best for you. If it be His will, may He grant you a part time place at the zoo, whether as an educator or keeper or in commissary service, and may He also provide that second work whereby your daily bread may be supplied. We ask not merely for any position, but for that which will enable you to walk uprightly, to serve with integrity, and to give glory to God in your labor.

Remember that perseverance is the mark of true faith. As you have learned, it is not enough to have begun well, but we must continue to trust and to seek the Lord all our days. Faith alone can keep the soul under discouragement when seeking after Christ, and that same faith will sustain you while you wait upon the Lord for employment. He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ, and He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will not forget the needs of His child.

Do not rest your hope upon a resume alone, though diligence is commendable, but cast your soul and your cause upon the atonement made by our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have peace with God and access to every blessing. Continue in prayer, continue in watchfulness, continue in holiness, and believe that the Lord will keep you faithful and earnest all your life. There is a secret power which flows into the soul of him who still hopes and still holds on to Christ, and that power will not fail you now.

So we commend you to Him who was made perfect through sufferings that He might be a perfect Savior, and we pray that you may know contentment in His will, industry in your calling, and joy in Christ whether the answer comes quickly or after weary waiting. May the Lord direct your steps, establish the work of your hands, and let His favor rest upon you.

Your prayer for work has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus with thankfulness for your diligence. You have shown faithfulness in substituting, taking extra shifts and preparing your resume well, and we understand the disappointment of not being chosen for the full time position. The desire to work and to provide through honest labor is good and honors God.

Scripture teaches us to be diligent in work and not to grow weary in doing what is right. If a person will not work, neither should he eat, so that we are urged toward employment and responsibility. At the same time we are taught to make provision for the body for health and for needful use, not for excess or wantonness, and to spend our greatest energy on spiritual things. This life passes quickly like a dream, so we seek first to be healthy in body and faithful in soul, trusting God to supply what we need for today and for His purposes. Your willingness to serve as an educator or a part time keeper or in commissary, and to take another job alongside it for more income, reflects that right desire to provide faithfully rather than to seek luxury.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, who is our only Savior and hope. We thank You for this one who wants to work diligently and use the gifts You have given. We ask for Your will to be done concerning the zoo. If it is good and profitable for this life and for eternity, open the door to a part time position there as an educator or keeper or in commissary, and provide also the additional work needed for daily provision. Your disappointment after working so faithfully, picking up extra shifts and doing your best to be reliable, is completely understandable. Wanting to see that diligence result in a stable position, and then hearing that the full time role went to someone else, can leave you feeling overlooked and wondering why.

The story of Job speaks to that kind of confusion. He lived very long ago, perhaps around the time of Abraham, and his book is one of the oldest in Scripture. Yet his questions are still our questions, because the deepest needs of the human heart have not changed with culture or time. Scripture describes him as a man who was upright and who turned away from evil, and God Himself pointed to his faithfulness. At the same time, there was an unseen discussion in heaven. The adversary had been watching Job closely and had formed an idea about him, that people only serve God for the blessings they receive, that if the blessings were removed the faith would fail. God allowed that claim to be tested, not because Job had failed, but to show that real faith is not mercenary.

That helps us see two things for your situation. First, not receiving the position you hoped for does not mean you have done something wrong or that God has overlooked you. Job's friends made that mistake. They came intending to comfort him, but they ended up accusing him, saying his suffering must prove he was a hypocrite or hiding sin, and telling him that if he would just get right with God everything would be fixed. Their counsel was wrong. God is indeed fair and just, but hardship or a closed door is not always a sign of His judgment. Second, much of what Job said in his sorrow came from his grief, not from settled truth about God. When we are hurting we can speak from pain in ways that do not reflect who God really is. Scripture records those words honestly, but it also shows that God was still at work even when it felt to Job as though God had forsaken him, and that truth is meant to comfort those who come after him.

God sees your labor and your desire to provide through honest work. He also knows the longing behind your prayer for a part time role as an educator or keeper or in commissary work, and for additional work to meet your financial needs. It is right to ask Him for open doors, and it is also right to trust that His care for you is not measured only by whether one specific door opens when you hope it will.

Job cried out for someone who could stand between God and man, who could lay a hand on both and bring them together. That longing is answered in Jesus Christ, who is our mediator. Through Him we can bring our disappointments and our needs directly to the Father with confidence, even when we do not understand His ways, which are higher than ours.

Praying for you now, that the Lord would give you peace while you wait, wisdom as you apply and seek, and provision according to His perfect knowledge of what you need. May He guide those who make hiring decisions, and may He open the right opportunities in His timing, whether at the zoo or elsewhere, and provide for you through fitting work. May He keep your heart trusting not only for what you receive, but for who He is, and may you know His presence and faithfulness even in this season of uncertainty. In the name of Jesus, amen.
