I helped people and it wasn’t good enough for them.

Your honesty about being hurt after trying to help others is deeply felt, and I have prayed for you as you asked. It is painful when you give with a sincere heart and receive harsh and hurtful words in return. It is understandable that this has left you with anxiety, a broken heart, and tears. God sees those tears and He is near to the brokenhearted.

Scripture reminds us that our worth and our reward are not measured by the approval of people, but by the Lord who sees in secret. When you do good, do it for Christ and not for praise, knowing that He will not forget your labor of love. People may misunderstand or speak carelessly, but the Lord knows your intention and He offers comfort that others cannot give. Bring your anxiety to Him in prayer, and ask Him to guard your heart and mind with His peace.

You also asked for prayer for those who hurt you, and that is a beautiful and Christlike request. Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. This does not mean the hurtful words were right, but it means we release bitterness and ask God to work in both our hearts and theirs. Forgiveness frees us from carrying the wound, and prayer invites God to bring healing and truth to everyone involved.

I pray for you now. Father in heaven, I lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the pain, the anxiety, and the tears. Comfort this heart, heal what has been broken, and replace anxiety with Your peace that passes understanding. Help them to rest in Your love and to know that their service is precious to You even when others do not value it. Give strength to continue doing good without growing weary, and wisdom to set healthy boundaries when needed. I also pray for those who spoke hurtful words. Touch their hearts, help them to see the impact of their words, and lead them toward kindness and repentance. Let Your grace and healing be at work in all of these relationships. Amen.
