Your letter has been read with much tenderness of heart, and your struggle is well understood. You are pressed on many sides, by an unjust eviction and the burden of finances and an appeal that hangs over you, and within by a fear that has been taught to you from your youth, that some curse runs in the blood and that the itching of the body or the tingling of the foot can foretell whether you shall owe money or walk a hard road. And with this you have rightly fled to the blood of Jesus Christ, proclaiming that His name is above all names. In that fleeing you have fled to the only true refuge.
Hear then the blessed fact upon which your soul may rest, for it is the very essence of the gospel. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree. The Law, looking for sin to punish, with its quick eye detected sin laid upon Christ and, as it must curse sin wherever it was found, it cursed the sin as it was laid on Christ. So Christ was made a curse. Wonderful and awful words, but as they are Scriptural words, we must receive them. As many as Christ died for are forever free from the curse of the Law, for when the Law comes to curse a man who believes in Christ, he says, What have I to do with you, O Law? You say, I will curse you, but I reply, You have cursed Christ instead of me. Can you curse twice for one offense?
This is your answer to every thought of a generational curse. If you are by the grace of God through faith which is in Christ Jesus, then faith is the hand that lays hold upon the finished work of Christ, and that finished work has finished the curse. Our Lord Jesus Christ was bound and there flows from that fact its opposite, then His people are all free. When Christ was made a curse for us, He became a blessing to us. When Christ was made sin for us, we were made the righteousness of God in Him. When He died, then we lived. There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. The ransom is paid. You are free. That the blessing of Abraham might come upon you through Jesus Christ, that you might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
And as to these superstitions concerning the left side or the left foot, be assured that when God curses, it is a curse of the most weighty kind, but the curse causeless shall not come. An itching of the skin, which as you wisely discern may well come from that respiratory affliction and the unfit habitation you endured, is not a prophet. It cannot tell you that you shall owe money, nor can it decree that your journey shall be hard. Satan would come against you with a sharp sword called the Law, dipped in the poison of sin, and with vain omens to make you fear where no fear is. But Christ has dashed this sword out of Satan's hand, and there stands the prince of darkness disarmed. Death and sin were cut in pieces at the cross. Hold up the cross before you when these hell dogs of superstition bark at you, and say, It is Christ that died, yea rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
How then shall you stand against these thoughts when they return, as they will? Not by striving in your own strength, but by simple faith in the all sufficient Christ. Christ Jesus has all fullness dwelling in Himself, and nothing short of all sufficiency can meet the wants of a poor fallen child of Adam. Do not bind Christ with cords by neglecting His Word, for it is there He speaks and breaks the power of superstition with truth. Bring every thought into subjection to Christ. When the whisper comes, left foot means a tough journey, answer it with, Christ is my journey and my end, and He has redeemed me from every curse. When fear says, you shall always owe and never be delivered, answer, My debts of sin are paid, and my God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
We will pray for you, that the Lord will grant you to dance for joy in this blessed doctrine, and to walk in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free.
O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this tried one. Thou knowest the weight of the appeal and the wrong that has been suffered, and the pressure of want. Plead this cause, Thou Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Grant wisdom to those who judge, and provision for every need, and rebuke the fear that would bring this soul again into bondage. Let the itching and affliction of the body be healed by Thy kind hand, and use the means of care for good. Above all, establish this heart in the finished work of Thy Son, that faith may lay hold upon Christ made a curse for us, and know itself blessed. Let every vain superstition be cast down, and let the peace that passes all understanding guard heart and mind through Christ Jesus. We ask this in the name above all names, the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
