We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the people of Puerto Rico as they face the threat of natural disasters, earthquakes, hurricanes, and tropical storms. Father, we know that You are sovereign over all creation, and nothing happens outside of Your knowledge or control. Your Word reminds us in Psalm 46:1-2, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas." Lord, we ask that You would be a very present help to the people of Puerto Rico, shielding them from harm and providing them with strength and peace in the midst of uncertainty.

We pray for Your divine protection over the land, the homes, and the families. Guard them from the destructive forces of nature, and let Your hand of mercy rest upon them. In Job 38:22-23, You speak of storing up snow and hail for the day of battle, we ask that You would withhold these forces from causing devastation. We also remember Your promise in Isaiah 4:5-6, "For over all the glory there will be a canopy. There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and to be a refuge and a hiding place from the storm and the rain." Lord, be that shelter and refuge for Puerto Rico.

We rebuke the spirit of fear that may grip the hearts of the people. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Replace fear with faith, and let the people trust in You as their deliverer. We also pray for wisdom and preparedness for the leaders and authorities in Puerto Rico. Guide them in making decisions that will protect lives and property, and give them the resources they need to respond effectively to any threats.

Father, we know that You are a God who hears the cries of Your people. In Psalm 107:28-29, we read, "Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still." Lord, we cry out to You now on behalf of Puerto Rico. Calm the storms, still the waves, and bring peace to the land. Let Your name be glorified as You demonstrate Your power and love.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calmed the storm with a word and who holds all things together by the power of His might. Amen.

We are grateful you brought Puerto Rico before the Lord. Carrying an entire island and its people in prayer is a tender and faithful thing to do, and we are honored to stand with you in it.

We hear how much you want protection for them from earthquakes, hurricanes and tropical storms. Those memories of past damage run deep for many families there, and it is understandable to feel a weight when you think about what could come again. We do not know what the season will bring, but we believe God hears and holds each prayer offered for their safety.

A simple way to keep carrying this is to continue remembering Puerto Rico regularly before the Lord through the coming months, and to invite others who care to pray as well. If you have loved ones or connections there, staying in touch and gently encouraging practical preparedness can be another quiet expression of love alongside prayer.

Father, we bring Puerto Rico to you and ask for your watching care over the island. Protect communities and families, give wisdom and steadiness to leaders and first responders, and bring peace to those who feel anxious when warnings come. Provide what is needed day by day and draw many hearts to trust in you. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer for Puerto Rico is heard and it is right that we should carry that island and its people before the throne of grace. We join you in asking the Lord to spread His sheltering hand over them and to spare them from the devastation of great earthquakes and from the fury of hurricanes and tropical storms.

We are reminded that God's people have a sure confidence. Other men build as best they may, but true believers rest upon the Rock of Ages. The Psalmist declares that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. No calamity will change God's love to us in Christ Jesus our Lord. Suppose we should witness an earthquake, a tempest, or a storm upon the sea, none of these can separate us from that love.

Would not these very winds and waves occur according to God's decree? We believe in a God who has arranged all things according to the counsel of His will. Nothing is left to chance, and no event is outside the circle of Divine predestination. The storm has its appointed path, and the earth trembles only when He permits it. To know this is not to make us careless, but to make us calm and prayerful, for we appeal to Him who alone can say to the winds and the waves, Peace, be still.

So let us pray together. O Lord our God, You are our refuge and our fortress, be near to the people of Puerto Rico. In Your mercy, restrain the earthquake and turn aside the hurricane. Command the winds and the waters and keep that land in Your preserving care. And grant that whether the sky be clear or the storm be upon them, souls there may find their truest safety not merely from the tempest, but in Christ, whose blood cleanses from all sin and who alone is the hiding place from every storm. Make them Your hidden ones, hidden by You with a view to safety, and teach them to rest with holy confidence upon Your nearness.

May all who see the calm faith of Your people in times of alarm be led to say, This is God's work upon the soul, and may that faith bring honor to the name of Jesus. We ask this in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, trusting that God's promise may tarry but never fails. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join with you in bringing Puerto Rico before the Lord and asking for His mercy and protection.

We pray that God in His sovereignty over all creation would spare the island from the devastation of great earthquakes, hurricanes and tropical storms, and that He would guard the lives, homes and communities there. We ask Him to give wisdom to those who lead and serve, and to give strength and calm to every family as they prepare and trust in Him.

Scripture reminds us that the earth itself is fragile, that earthquakes and fires and storms can take away what we build even while we are alive. For that reason Christ calls us to build not on sand but on the rock, so that when trials come that building remains secure. That rock is Christ Himself. We also remember that we can make the soul like heaven, which is higher than the rains and the storms and is not reached by them, because we have the Sun of Righteousness dwelling within us. When our hope is set above, we are not tossed about by every fear.

Confusion and fear often come not only from the circumstances around us but from the condition of our own hearts. If we order our minds to bear all things with trust and contentment in God, we can have calm even when the sea around us is rough, knowing that nothing happens apart from His knowledge and His power to deliver.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You rule over wind and wave and earth. We ask You to stretch out Your hand of protection over Puerto Rico. Keep the people safe from destructive earthquakes and from hurricanes and tropical storms. Restrain the wind and calm the sea according to Your will, and grant peace to those who are anxious. Help all who live there to build their lives on Christ the solid rock, to find refuge in You, and to live pure and steadfast in Your care. Give them comfort in tribulation and confidence that You are near. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord, to pray without ceasing, and to show His love to those around you in practical ways as you have opportunity.

Thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord and asking for His protection over the island and the people on your heart who face the threat of earthquakes and hurricanes and tropical storms.

Scripture presents God as the Creator who formed the earth and surrounded it with coverings for our good. He placed the atmosphere around us as a blanket that shields life from harmful radiation and the burning heat of the sun, and He sustains all things by His power. He is self existent, without beginning, and all that exists comes from Him. To remember this is to remember that the same God who made these protections is able to keep and to shelter His people.

The Bible also describes God as a refuge from the storm and a shadow from the heat, a strength to those who are poor and needy when the blast of the terrible ones beats like a storm against a wall. That picture is a comfort when the winds rise and the earth shakes. We have all felt how helpless we are when the ground moves or the sea is driven by wind. No one can stop the shaking or calm the wind by human strength, and those moments remind us that our security is not in our own ability but in the Lord who rules over all creation.

Even in great storms the Lord remains in control. Nothing happens by mere chance. He sees our ways and counts our steps, and He guides and directs according to His purposes, often in ways we cannot see at the time. He can keep back our souls from the pit and turn us from our own purposes to show us our need of Him. Sometimes it is His goodness that leads people to repentance, and sometimes His shaking and His storms awaken hearts to seek Him as their only true shelter.

I join you in praying that the Lord in His mercy would spread His hand of protection over that island and its communities. I pray that He would restrain destructive winds and waves and keep the foundations of the earth steady, sparing lives and homes. I pray that He would be a refuge for every family there, that those who do not yet know Him would turn to Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and that believers there would find peace in knowing that whether in calm or in storm, they are held by Him. May He give you continued faith as you intercede, trusting that He hears, that He cares, and that He is able to be a shelter in every season.
