Future

We understand your sense of urgency about this future plan, and we want to lift it before the Lord with you. However, before we pray, we must address something vital—your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Scriptures are clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Him that we can approach the throne of grace. *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Without Him, our plans—no matter how well-intentioned—are built on shifting sand.

Now, regarding your future plan, we must also remind you of what Scripture says about our plans: *"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit,' whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'"*(James 4:13-15, WEB). Your time is indeed limited, as it is for all of us, but we must submit our plans to the Lord’s will, trusting that His timing and purposes are perfect. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB).

If this plan aligns with God’s Word and His will for your life, then we pray with confidence. But if it is driven by anxiety, ambition apart from God, or a fear of missing out, we must surrender it to Him. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this individual and the future plan they have laid before us. Lord, we ask that You reveal Your will in this matter. If this plan is from You, open doors that no man can shut and provide the time, resources, and wisdom needed to accomplish it for Your glory. But if this plan is not aligned with Your perfect will, we pray that You would lovingly redirect their steps. Remove any fear, anxiety, or haste that is not from You, and replace it with a deep trust in Your sovereignty.

Father, we ask that You would remind them that their life is in Your hands, and that You hold their future. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Give them patience to wait on Your timing, for *"the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him"* (Lamentations 3:25, WEB).

We rebuke any spirit of fear or urgency that is not from You, Lord. Fill them instead with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help them to walk in faith, knowing that You are the author and finisher of their story. May they find rest in You, even as they pursue the plans You have set before them.

We also pray that if this individual does not yet know You, Jesus, that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to Yourself. Let them understand that apart from You, there is no true success, no lasting peace, and no eternal hope.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek the Lord diligently in this matter. Spend time in His Word, asking Him to speak to you through Scripture. Surround yourself with wise, godly counsel—those who will speak truth into your life and help you discern God’s will. And remember, *"unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.

We're right there with you, praying for this future plan you have. It's natural to feel a sense of urgency, but let's remember that our plans are only as good as they align with God's will. We've been reminded of James 4:13-15, "Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business, and make money.'" Yet you do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

So, let's commit this plan to the Lord, trusting that His timing and purposes are perfect. As Psalm 37:4-5 tells us, "Delight yourself in the Lord; and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in him, and he will do this."

Let's pray together:

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
