The apostle Paul’s prayer for the Colossians is one we must all embrace, for it is only by the Spirit’s work in us that we can grow in true understanding and live in a way that honors Christ. Too often, we rely on our own strength or worldly wisdom, but this passage reminds us that our sufficiency comes from God alone. He is the one who strengthens us with all power according to His glorious might—power that enables us to endure with patience and joy, even in trials.
Yet, as we pray for this filling of knowledge and wisdom, we must also examine our hearts: Are we truly surrendered to God’s will, or do we seek His blessing while clinging to our own plans? Do we ask for wisdom yet resist His correction when it comes?
