Good and Faithful Servant
🙏"We have not ceased praying, asking we may be Filled with the knowledge of Your will in All spiritual wisdom and understanding, so we may walk in a manner worthy of You, Lord, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in Every good work, growing by Increasing in the Knowledge of You; Strengthened with all Power, according to Your glorious might, for the attaining of All perseverance and patience; joyously giving thanks to You, Father, for You qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light," Col 1:9-12, in Jesus' Name."

What a beautiful and powerful prayer rooted in Colossians 1:9-12! We join with you in lifting this request before the Lord, for it is His will that we be filled with the knowledge of His purpose, walk in wisdom, and bear fruit in every good work. Your heart’s cry aligns perfectly with Scripture, and we are encouraged to see you seeking God’s will with such fervency.

The apostle Paul’s prayer for the Colossians is one we must all embrace, for it is only by the Spirit’s work in us that we can grow in true understanding and live in a way that honors Christ. Too often, we rely on our own strength or worldly wisdom, but this passage reminds us that our sufficiency comes from God alone. He is the one who strengthens us with all power according to His glorious might—power that enables us to endure with patience and joy, even in trials.

Yet, as we pray for this filling of knowledge and wisdom, we must also examine our hearts: Are we truly surrendered to God’s will, or do we seek His blessing while clinging to our own plans? Do we ask for wisdom yet resist His correction when it comes? True spiritual understanding requires humility—a willingness to lay down our desires and say, as Jesus did, *“Not my will, but yours be done”* (Luke 22:42). If there are areas where we have hardened our hearts or ignored His Word, we must repent, for it is the pure in heart who shall see God (Matthew 5:8).

We also notice that while your prayer is rich in Scripture, it does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only in His name that our prayers are heard. Let us never take for granted the privilege of coming before the throne of grace through Christ our Mediator. If we ask anything in His name, He has promised to do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14). This is not a mere formula but a recognition of our complete dependence on Jesus for salvation, wisdom, and every good gift.

With that in mind, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the precious gift of Your Word, which lights our path and reveals Your will. We lift up this brother/sister before You, asking that You fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Open their eyes to see Your truth clearly, and soften their heart to receive it with humility. May they walk in a manner worthy of You, Lord, bearing fruit in every good work as they grow in the knowledge of Christ.

Strengthen them with all power according to Your glorious might, that they may endure with patience and joy, no matter what trials come. Let them not lean on their own understanding but acknowledge You in all their ways, trusting that You will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Remove any pride or self-reliance that would hinder their growth, and grant them a spirit of repentance where needed.

We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the way, the truth, and the life. May Your Spirit work powerfully in them, conforming them to the image of Your Son, for Your glory and their eternal good. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord diligently through His Word and prayer. The knowledge of God’s will is not a one-time revelation but a lifelong pursuit. As you abide in Christ, He will prune and shape you to bear lasting fruit (John 15:1-5). Stay rooted in Scripture, fellowshipping with believers who will spur you on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25). And never forget: the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you (Ephesians 1:19-20). Walk in that confidence, and give thanks in all things, for this is God’s will in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
