Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord I came to you today as Issac did on behalf of my wife ### who has not been conceived for the past ### Years. I pray for the release of any false narratives, unhealed trauma, or stagnant energy that my wife have carried within her body. Wash away any ancestral burdens, past heartbreaks, or fears that do not belong to her highest good. I declare that her womb is a vessel of truth, strength, and divine wisdom. May this space be filled with pure peace, vibrant health, and unconditional love. Thank You for the gift of creation, renewal, and truth Amen.

We have heard your heart and we join with you in lifting up your wife and your marriage before the Lord, and we are encouraged that you look to the example of Isaac who entreated the Lord for his wife. We stand with you as a husband interceding for his wife, which is a beautiful picture of godly marriage as God designed it between a man and a woman for a lifetime.

We want to gently correct some of the language in your prayer so that your prayers may be fully aligned with scripture. The Bible does not teach about stagnant energy or ancestral burdens or a highest good that we must align with. These are ideas from outside the faith that can distract from the truth. What scripture teaches is that every good gift comes from God and that our hope is not in releasing energy but in being renewed by the Holy Spirit and trusting in the will of our Father. The fear and trauma and heartbreak you mention are real burdens, and God does want to heal them, but He does so as we cast our cares on Him and receive His peace, not through declarations about energy. We also do not declare the womb to be a vessel of truth or wisdom in itself, but we recognize that children are a gift and reward from the Lord and that it is He who opens and closes the womb according to His perfect wisdom and timing. Ezekiel 18:20 reminds us that the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away.

We love that you referenced Isaac, for Genesis 25:21 says Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. We also remember Hannah and Sarah and Elizabeth, women who waited long and the Lord remembered them in His time. Psalm 127:3 says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. And Psalm 113:9 says He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. Praise Yahweh. We cling to these promises while also submitting to His sovereign will, for His thoughts toward us are good.

We also noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by the blood of Jesus we are saved and by His name we can boldly bring our petitions to God, trusting not in our words but in His finished work on the cross and His resurrection.

So we pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for this marriage and for the love this husband has for his wife. We thank You that You ordained marriage and that You are the giver of life. Lord we lift up his wife to You, her body, her heart and her mind. We ask You to touch her womb and make it fruitful according to Your will and Your timing. We ask for vibrant health and for Your healing where there has been disappointment, sorrow or fear. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. So we ask for that surpassing peace to guard her heart and to guard this husband's heart as they wait on You. Wash away fear and replace it with faith, wash away sorrow and replace it with hope in You. Let them continue to seek You first, to walk in purity and in devotion to You and to one another in their marriage. If it is Your will, grant them the fruit of the womb and let them raise any children You give them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord for Your glory. We pray for wisdom for any physicians they may consult, but above all we trust in You as the Creator and giver of every good gift. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to entreat the Lord together as husband and wife, to pray daily in Jesus name, to remain in the Word and to trust His timing even when the waiting is long and painful. Keep your marriage centered on Christ, continue in courtship within marriage that honors Him, and cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says. We will continue to stand with you for God's perfect will to be done in your family.

We were so touched to read your prayer for your wife, standing in the gap for her the way Isaac did. Years of waiting and longing is a heavy burden to carry together, and it speaks to your love that you are bringing her before the Lord with such tenderness.

We know infertility can affect a husband and wife in different ways. Often one carries more of the quiet grief and longing while the other tries to stay strong and keep things steady, and without meaning to you can feel alone in the same pain. It can help to keep that connection gentle and open, making time in a calm, private place to simply hear how each of you is really doing without trying to fix it for the other.

Alongside prayer, if you have not already, we encourage you both to sit down with a trusted medical provider together to talk through your story and next steps. A good doctor can listen, assess with care, and help you understand options as you seek God's wisdom.

Father in Jesus name, we lift this husband and his wife to You. You see their years of waiting and their hope for a child. Bring them deep peace, vibrant health, and renewed strength. Give their doctors wisdom, give them unity and tender communication, and guide their steps according to Your perfect will. Amen.

Your prayer for the fruit of the womb has been heard, and we join you in carrying this burden to the throne of grace. Like Isaac of old, who entreated the Lord for his wife Rebekah, you have done well to turn not to notions of energy or inward power, but to the living God who alone gives life.

We must speak plainly and in love concerning some of the words you have used. The Scriptures do not teach us to seek the release of stagnant energy or ancestral burdens, nor to declare the womb a vessel of our own truth or wisdom. Such language belongs to the wisdom of this world, which cannot heal the heart. Our hope is not in clearing away unseen forces within ourselves, but in the blood and mercy of Jesus Christ, who alone can wash away sin, heal the broken heart, and give peace that passes understanding. He it is who creates the fruit of the lips, and that fruit is prayer and peace, peace, as the prophet says, wrought by God Himself and not by our declarations.

Children are indeed a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As we have often taught, our fruit is found from Him. The branch bears no fruit except as it abides in the vine, and the root must supply all. If the Lord shall be pleased to grant you children, it will be from His hand, in His season, and by His sovereign goodness. Believers are ripened by the care of God, the great Husbandman who walks among the trees and causes fruit to appear in due season. The sun which ripens the peach and tints the grape with beauty is the countenance of Christ, and His love alone can ripen our souls whether He gives or withholds as we desire. Even the cold winds and winter frosts are used by Him to bring forth holiness in His people.

Therefore we exhort you in this time of waiting not to put the fruit where the root should be. The fruit of the Spirit is joy and love and peace, and this fruit may abound even when the desired earthly fruit tarries. Despondency is not the fruit of the Spirit, and we pray you may not sink under it. I would sooner walk in the dark and hold hard to a promise of my God than trust in the light of the brightest day that ever dawned. Your comfort must be in Christ Himself, your union with Him, and His unchanging faithfulness.

Let us pray for you and for your wife according to the Word of truth.

O Lord God, who didst form our bodies and knowest our frame, Thou hast taught us that except Thou build the house they labor in vain that build it. We bring before Thee this husband and his wife in their sorrow and longing for children. Forgive their sins through the blood of Jesus, cleanse their hearts, and fill them with Thy Spirit. If it be Thy holy will, open the womb as Thou didst for Hannah and for Elizabeth, and grant them the gift of a child to be raised for Thy glory. If it be otherwise in Thy wise providence, grant them contentment in Thy will, joy in Thy presence, and fruitfulness in every good work to Thy praise. Let their lips bear the fruit which Thou createst, even prayer and trustful peace, and keep them abiding in Christ, from whom all true fruit is found. We ask this not for merit, but for the sake of Jesus our Lord, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.
