Thank you for sharing this burden so openly and for bringing your wife before the Lord in prayer as Isaac did for Rebekah. The Lord hears the prayers of a husband for his wife, and He knows the longing and the waiting you have carried for years.

I join you in asking God for His mercy and grace upon you both, and for His perfect will to be done in your family. Children are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward, and it is right to ask Him for this blessing.

In Scripture fruit is a picture of what comes naturally from a life that remains close to Jesus. He said He is the vine and we are the branches. When we abide in Him and His word abides in us, fruit comes forth in its season without being forced. It is not produced by striving or by trying harder in our own strength. Works come from our effort, but fruit comes from relationship. God is not looking for forced activity, He is looking for the natural result of walking with His Son.

What He desires most is the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, and from that love comes joy and peace and patience and kindness and goodness and faithfulness and gentleness and self control. This is the fruit that remains. God cares more for the quality and lasting character of what He grows in us than for outward quantity or appearance. Even when a branch is already bearing fruit, He cleanses and prunes it through His word so that it may bear more.

So as you wait, I encourage you both to keep abiding in Christ together. Let His word wash and cleanse your hearts daily. Bring every fear, every past hurt, every disappointment and every anxious thought to Jesus and leave it with Him. He does not call us to think in terms of energies or ancestral burdens or vague spiritual forces, but to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us, to be renewed in our minds by truth, and to receive His peace which passes understanding. Whatever grief or trauma has marked these years, He is able to heal and to give rest.

May the Lord fill your home with His love first of all, that your love for Him and for one another would grow strong and steady. May He guard your wife's body and heart with health and peace, and may He give you both wisdom for every medical step and comfort in every disappointment. And may you trust His timing and His goodness, knowing that He withholds no good thing from those who walk with Him and that His purpose for your lives is to bear fruit that pleases Him and remains.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus I lift this husband and his wife to You. You know their desire for a child and the years they have waited. You formed the womb and You give life. Have mercy upon them and according to Your perfect wisdom and love, grant them the fruit of the womb if it be Your will. Heal any wound in their hearts, quiet every fear, and wash them with Your word. Help them to abide in Christ day by day, to grow in love and joy and peace, and to bear lasting fruit for Your glory whatever You provide. Give them strength to trust You, hope that does not fail, and a deep assurance that You are with them. In Jesus name, Amen.
