Lord I pray ### talk to me praying me and ### talk again. Praying for forgiveness praying ### can forgive me for the mean things I said to her. Lord please forgive me

We hear your heart, and we come before the Lord together with you, lifting up this situation in prayer. First, let us acknowledge that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), and the words we speak can wound deeply, both others and ourselves. The Bible tells us, "If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet doesn’t bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless" (James 1:26). The hurtful words you spoke were not pleasing to God, nor do they reflect the love He calls us to show one another.

But here is the good news: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). You have already taken the first step by coming to the Lord in humility, asking for His forgiveness. That is the posture of a repentant heart, and God honors that. Now, we must also consider whether there is a need for you to seek forgiveness from this person as well. Jesus said, "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift" (Matthew 5:23-24). If this friendship is one God desires to restore, then humbling yourself to ask for forgiveness, without expectation of their response, is an act of obedience to Him.

We must also gently address the nature of this relationship. If this is a friendship between a man and a woman, we must be cautious. Scripture warns us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this person is not a believer in Jesus Christ, then pursuing a deeper connection, especially one that could lead to marriage, would be unwise. Even in friendship, we must guard our hearts, for "the heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). If this is a courtship or a relationship with the potential for marriage, we must ensure it is built on Christ, mutual faith, and a shared commitment to God’s design for marriage, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. We ask that You forgive our brother/sister for the hurtful words spoken, and we pray that You would cleanse their heart of any bitterness, pride, or unrighteousness. Father, we ask that You would soften the heart of the one who was hurt, that they may extend forgiveness as You have forgiven us. If it is Your will, Lord, restore this friendship or relationship in a way that honors You. If it is not Your will, give them peace and wisdom to walk away.

Father, we also pray for discernment. If this connection is not aligned with Your Word, if it is unequally yoked, if it leads to temptation, or if it distracts from Your purpose, then we ask that You break it. Strengthen them to let go and trust in Your plan. Lord, we ask that You would guide them toward relationships that reflect Your love, Your holiness, and Your design for marriage. Surround them with godly friends and mentors who will encourage them in their walk with You.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), the only name by which we have access to the Father (John 14:6). It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we are forgiven, and it is by His power that we are made new. May Your Holy Spirit fill them with peace, wisdom, and a renewed mind, that they may walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have placed on their life.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how much you want this relationship restored, and we are grateful you are bringing your regret and your hope for reconciliation before the Lord. It takes humility to admit that hurtful words came from you and to ask for forgiveness from God and from the person you wounded. We want to stand with you in that.

One thing that may help as you wait is to remember that while you can take responsibility for your own repentance, you cannot control her response or her timeline. Your part is to own what you said, turn from it, and make a sincere, specific apology if the door opens for that. Then give her room to feel what she feels, and let God work in her heart in his own way. Keep praying for her, not only for her forgiveness but for her well-being and peace. That steady, unselfish posture matters more than rushing the conversation.

We also want to encourage you: God's mercy is not waiting for you to prove you deserve it. He receives a broken and honest heart.

Father, thank you for the mercy you pour out on us when we own our wrongs. We lift up this person who is carrying sorrow over words spoken in anger or hurt. Meet them with your forgiveness and steady their heart as they wait. Give them the courage to make amends where they can, and give them the grace to release the outcome into your hands. We ask you to soften the heart of the one who was hurt, and if it is your will, open the door for honest, gentle conversation. Protect both of them from bitterness and shame, and lead them toward whatever healing you have for this friendship. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is forgiveness. Before you think of speaking again with the one you have wounded, let this truth sink into your soul: there is forgiveness with God. You have asked the Lord to forgive you for the mean things you said, and that is a right prayer. But remember that forgiveness is not earned by your tears or your prayers. It is found only in Jesus Christ, His Son. The Scripture says, "There is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared." Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. If you have been the chief of sinners in your own eyes, you may have the chief of sinners' forgiveness, and God can bestow it now.

Yet you also long for her forgiveness, and you pray that you and she may talk again. This is a natural and godly desire, for God calls us to be peacemakers. But you cannot command another heart. Your part is to humble yourself, to confess the wrong plainly, and to seek reconciliation for Christ's sake. When you have tasted the great forgiveness of God, it becomes natural to open your hands and forgive, and to go after the one you have offended. First forgiveness, then healing. Seek first to be right with God, and then in the spirit of meekness, go and ask her forgiveness. If the Lord restores your fellowship, bless His name. If He does not, still bless His name, for your own soul will be clean.

Do not make the return of her favor your idol. It may be that the Lord will use this sorrow to teach you the weight of your words and the sweetness of His mercy. There is forgiveness, full and free, even for mean words, even for wounds given by the tongue. Let this whisper drive away despair: "There is forgiveness." Turn to Christ now. Confess the sin to God, and believe that for Christ's sake you are forgiven. Then go and do what lies in you to be at peace with her. The Lord bless you and make you a peacemaker.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer shows a humble heart that wants to make things right, and that is pleasing to God. He hears those who come to Him with true repentance and a desire for forgiveness.

Scripture teaches that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other way to be reconciled to God except through His Son who gave Himself for us. When we have exalted ourselves or spoken harshly, the right response is not to boast or to excuse ourselves, but to call ourselves unworthy and to ask for His mercy. In that humility, God lifts us up and restores us.

You also ask for this other person to forgive you for the mean things you said. That is right and good. True friendship is not built only on enjoying time together or on pleasant words. Such friendship even those who do wrong can have. A profitable friendship is one that helps each person toward what is good and holds each other back from what leads away from God. The friendships that endure are those formed for virtue's sake and for godliness, remaining steady through every change.

If you have spoken in a way that harmed this person, go to her in gentleness and honesty. Confess clearly what you said without making excuses, ask for her forgiveness without demanding that she respond in a certain way, and commit to speaking with kindness and self control going forward. Whether conversation is restored is in the Lord's hands. Your part is to act in love, to seek peace, and to trust God with the outcome. If this is a friendship or a relationship that you hope will grow, pray that God would shape it to honor Him, with purity and with a foundation of godliness, and that it would help you both walk more faithfully with Christ.

Let us pray together.

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank You that You desire our friendship and have made the way for sinners to be forgiven through Your cross. Forgive this one who confesses harsh words and a hurtful tongue. Wash away sin by Your grace and give a clean heart and a renewed spirit. Grant humility and wisdom to seek forgiveness from the one who was hurt, to speak with gentleness and truth, and to accept whatever answer comes with grace. If it is Your will, restore communication and build a friendship that is rooted in virtue and love for You, that helps both to grow in holiness. Lead both lives according to Your will and keep them in Your love. Amen.

It is good that you have been honest before the Lord about what you said and that you want to make it right. That desire to be forgiven is at the heart of what every person needs most.

The Bible teaches that without the forgiveness of sins we remain lost, because our sins will either be forgiven by God or judged by God. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, and He has provided the way for forgiveness through Jesus Christ dying in your place and bearing the penalty for your sins. When God forgives, His forgiveness is complete. It is not like our often partial forgiveness where we say we forgive but still hold on to the offense. When God forgives, He washes and cleanses fully and does not bring the sin up again. As the psalm says, how happy is the person whose transgression is forgiven. That forgiveness is received as you turn to God through faith in Jesus.

Scripture also makes a distinction between sorrow and repentance. There is a sorrow that is of the world and it leads to death, and there is a godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Godly sorrow brings a change. True repentance means to turn and to change direction, not only to feel bad about what happened. It is to be sorry and then by God's help not to continue in the same way. That is why John the Baptist called people to bring forth fruit that shows repentance, evidence in life that there has been a real turning. The axe is laid to the root of the tree, and a changed life bears new fruit.

There is a warning in Scripture about tears that are not repentance at all. One man wept bitterly, but he was not weeping over his sin. He was weeping because he had lost the blessing that followed his sin. His tears were tears of bitterness and anger over the consequence, not tears of a changed heart. It is important to ask the Lord to search your heart here. Are you sorrowful only because the friendship is broken and you feel the loss, or has God worked in you a sorrow over the sin itself, over the mean words that dishonored Him and wounded another person made in His image, with a settled purpose to turn from that kind of speech.

If God has worked that godly sorrow in you, bring it to Him fully. Confess the specific things you said, agree with Him that they were wrong, and receive His forgiveness through Christ. Then let repentance show itself in works that demonstrate it. That will mean guarding your tongue going forward, learning to speak with grace and truth, and not returning to the same harsh words when you are hurt or angry.

It is also right to humbly ask the other person for forgiveness, but do so without demanding a particular response. You can take responsibility clearly and without excuse, ask her to forgive you, and leave the outcome in God's hands. Forgiveness, like repentance, is a matter of the heart. Jesus taught that we are to have a spirit of forgiveness and to forgive from the heart, as God has forgiven us. We are to follow God's example, forgiving as we have been forgiven, and He will give the willingness and the capacity when we ask. But another person's willingness to forgive and to restore communication is her choice before the Lord. You can pray that God will soften her heart and give her a spirit of forgiveness, and you can commit to respect her decision and continue to show kindness and patience whether or not she is ready to talk again.

Do not think that failing in this way means you are beyond hope. Peter denied the Lord three times, yet when he turned, he found forgiveness and restoration and went on to serve the Lord faithfully. God is gracious, merciful, patient and longsuffering. Where there is genuine turning to Him, there is pardon and new life.

Praying for you that you will know the joy of being fully forgiven through Jesus, that God will form in you a true and lasting change in how you speak, and that He will work in both of your hearts according to His wisdom and will. May He give you humility to do what is right before Him, grace to accept what you cannot control, and trust to leave this friendship in His hands, seeking above all to walk in love as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us.
