Today's Encouraging Words

When [Jesus] returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. So many gathered around that there was no longer room for them, not even in front of the door; and he was speaking the word to them. Then some people came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. And when they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him; and after having dug through it, they let down the mat on which the paralytic lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, "Why does this fellow speak in this way? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" At once Jesus perceived in his spirit that they were discussing these questions among themselves; and he said to them, "Why do you raise such questions in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Stand up and take your mat and walk'? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" -- he said to the paralytic -- "I say to you, stand up, take your mat and go to your home." And he stood up, and immediately took the mat and went out before all of them; so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!" (Mark 2:1-12)

Proverbs 18:24 says… Some friends play at friendship but a true friend sticks closer than one's nearest kin. However, a true friend is hard to find. To have someone with whom we can share our lives and faith, our laughter and tears, our hopes and fears, is truly a gift from God.

Today’s mobile society threatens such relationships. Over the years I have gained many friends, some come and go and some come to stay. Friends from elementary and high school go to college and find jobs in places other than their hometown and family members pursue different paths separate from one another.

Today Give thanks to God and let your friend know how much you appreciate his or her friendship.

“Trust In Him”

A friend is a gift from God!

Have A Great God Day!

Today’s Prayer…

Thank you, God, for faithful friends who help us to walk more closely with you. In the name of Jesus - Amen!

Father God, I am truly convinced that You place the right people in our lives at exactly the right times. Some are meant to stay a short while, some a lifetime. Thank You for looking after us in such loving ways and always making sure we are cared for. You are such a loving, gracious God. In the name of Jesus, I praise You for the gift of friendship and fellowship. Amen.

Father, thank you for blessing us with wonderful people around us as family and friends. Thank you for being with us and guiding us ion our lives in good and bad times. You are really precious in our lives. Amen
