Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for a friend who confided in me about some painful life experiences tonight. Pray for their healing and comfort and salvation (or that they would be drawn closer to Christ if a Christian). Thank you.

We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to surround them with His healing presence. The pain of life’s wounds can feel overwhelming, but we know that Jesus is the Great Physician, who binds up the brokenhearted and comforts those who mourn. Father, we ask that You would pour out Your peace upon this precious soul, reminding them that You are near to the crushed in spirit and save those who are contrite in heart (Psalm 34:18). Let them feel Your love in tangible ways, through Your Word, through the care of believers, and through the quiet assurance that You see their suffering and will not leave them in it.

If this friend does not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw them with cords of love, opening their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May they come to understand that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If they are already a believer, we ask that this season of pain would deepen their trust in You, Lord, and that they would cling to the promise that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith, and let them experience the reality of Your presence in their darkest moments.

We also pray for wisdom and compassion for you, as their confidant. May you be a vessel of Christ’s love, pointing them to the hope found only in Him. Guard your own heart as you carry their burdens, and may the Lord use this situation to draw both of you closer to Himself. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

It's a sacred thing when a friend trusts us with their pain. We're glad they had you to turn to, and we're standing with you in prayer for them tonight.

Sometimes when people share hard experiences, the questions that surface later, "Why did God let this happen?", are often less a request for a theology lecture and more a way of saying, "I feel completely shattered by this." Your friend may not need you to have answers right now, just your steady presence. Sitting with someone in their hurt without rushing to fix it is one of the most Christlike things we can do.

Keep showing up. Keep listening. Let them set the pace for what they want to share and when. Knowing someone safe is simply there, not pressing or judging, can be deeply healing in itself. And as you walk with them, we're asking the Lord to do what only he can, draw near to their broken places and make himself known as the one who stays close to the crushed in spirit.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this friend to you now. You know every detail of what they've endured and exactly how it has marked them. We ask for your deep, quiet comfort to settle over them in ways they can sense. Heal what feels broken beyond repair, and gently draw them toward yourself, whether for the first time or into a deeper trust they've never known. Give our friend wisdom to know when to speak and when to simply be present, and sustain them as they love well. In your name we pray, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The command rings out clearly for such a time as this: "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people." This is a charge to us all, and it comes with a tearful eye and an aching heart directed toward that dear soul laid before us. The mere leaves of this Tree of Life, our Lord Jesus Christ, are for the healing of the nations; the least things about Him are full of healing virtue, and we may confidently bring this wounded one to touch the hem of His garment.

This question of pain must be peculiarly painful to Him who asks it of us, for it touches one for whom Christ died. Why should we think our own dear Friend, our Lord and Master, would let this soul sink when the glance of His eyes could save, and the will of His heart could deliver? There arose a great and sudden windstorm upon the lake of this life, but He is in the vessel. Let us urge upon this friend the plain Gospel of salvation by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus. The way of salvation is to believe on Him, not on a creed, but on a Person. The Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed." Leave the whole matter of salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence; that is the faith which saves the soul.

As for comfort, it comes from a peculiar source, for God does not always give it by a distinct act. He quickens us, and so He comforts us. His Word quickens the deadened heart and makes the nature other than it was before. Even the memory of past sorrow shall pass away as waters that flow by. In your own case, if this friend is a believer, you may point them to the future where they shall forget the misery. And if they are not, or if there is a fearfulness, let the question be put gently: "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Did not Jesus Christ come into the world to save sinners? I would have this one know that there is an abundance of healing power in Christ. You who long to be saved, but cannot understand how, I have gone that road long ago, splashed in the mire of the Slough of Despond. The holding on is not the great matter; it is Christ who will hold you on.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

What you ask is a good work, to bear your friend's burden before God. Yet do not think that healing comes simply from the removal of pain. The sufferings your friend has endured may be the very chisel by which the Lord perfects their salvation. For it was through suffering that Christ Himself was perfected as the Captain of our salvation; and God honors His children when He leads them by the same path. Affliction is not the sign of one forsaken, but of one being shaped for glory.

Pray earnestly, then, but not for a shallow comfort that merely soothes the wound. Many seek solace in the thought that they do not suffer alone, as if the multitude of the miserable could lessen judgment. That is a deception that will only deepen their pain. True consolation begins when the soul casts itself upon the love of Christ, repents of sin, and embraces the long waiting of hope. Entreat the Lord that your friend may receive the long-suffering that is more impenetrable than any wall, which no unexpected evil can disturb, which no spark of calamity can set ablaze.

Ask that they may not merely be freed from present distress, but that the trial may work in them a patient endurance, a salvation that becomes for their own comfort and for the consolation of those who witness their steadfastness. Remind them that the grace of Christ does not leave us where we are: it both wounds and binds up, humbles and exalts. If they are already in Christ, pray that these pains draw them deeper into His fellowship. If not, pray that the weight of their sorrow may make them flee to the only refuge that does not fail.

Remember, the Lord who anointed us and sealed us with His Spirit will not think little of their salvation. He who gave His Son to suffering for our sake will not withhold the healing that leads to eternal life. But the soil of the heart must be tilled by trials, lest the seed of the word be choked by worldly cares. Pray that your friend cultivates not only comfort, but also attentive listening to God’s word, fortitude of soul, and a genuine contempt for perishing things. One part of virtue is not enough; the whole field must be planted. I join my prayer with yours, that they may stand firmly in Christ, and that you both may be found among those who are caught up together in the clouds, ever with the Lord.
