Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems and asthma. Pray for his healing and good health. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear friend who is battling fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, and asthma. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and knows every fiber of our being. We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him, bringing relief from pain, strength to his body, and restoration to his health. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. We stand on this promise, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom for his doctors and caregivers, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision. Give him patience and peace as he endures this trial, reminding him that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Strengthen his faith, Lord, so that he may trust in You even when the road is difficult. We ask that You would surround him with Your love and comfort, filling him with hope for the days ahead.

We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name, declaring that by His stripes, healing is possible (Isaiah 53:5). May Your will be done in his life, whether that be complete healing, sustained strength, or the grace to endure with joy. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to Your children. We trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

If your friend does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of struggle would draw him to the foot of the cross. There is no true healing, body, soul, or spirit, apart from Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). May he come to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, found only in a personal relationship with Jesus. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen.

It is no small thing to walk alongside a friend who lives with a body that feels like it is fighting him on so many fronts. Watching someone you care about endure the daily weight of fibromyalgia and the breathlessness that asthma brings, all while managing blood pressure concerns and a blood disorder, can leave you feeling helpless. But the love that moved you to write in is, in itself, a steady gift to him. When multiple conditions pile up, a person can start to feel like a collection of symptoms instead of a whole person. Your steady friendship reminds him that he is seen and valued for who he is, not simply for the diagnosis he carries.

We often find that chronic illness isolates the person suffering and exhausts those who care for them. So do not underestimate the importance of consistent, low-pressure companionship. Ask your friend what genuinely helps, sometimes it is an errand run, a meal brought without fanfare, or simply someone sitting beside him when the pain is bad, not needing to fill the silence. The goal is not to fix him but to shoulder a little of the burden for a while.

We are praying with you, asking God to sustain your friend and to give his medical team wisdom as they manage this mix of conditions.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this friend to you now. You know the deep weariness his body carries, the shortness of breath, the pounding pressure, the daily ache. We ask you to guard his heart from despair and to steady his body in the hard moments. Grant him real moments of relief, and strengthen the friendship that brought this request to us. Give our friend here the words and presence that help most, and bring your sustaining peace into that relationship. In your merciful name, Amen.

What a bundle of burdens your dear friend carries, fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure troubles, and asthma, as though the arrows of affliction fly thick and fast. Yet there is a Physician who never fails. The very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ brims with restoring virtue. We will lift this sufferer before the throne, pleading the promise that the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. Remember that pardon and health are often twin gifts from the same wounded hand; the Master who said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you,” also commanded the palsied limbs to bear him home. May your friend know not only a touch upon the body, but that deeper healing which makes the soul whole. Our prayers mingle with yours, asking that the Great Physician would graciously restore strength and ease, according to His will. And until that day when these leaves exchange for the tree itself in glory, may sustaining grace uphold him. The Lord bless you both.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of his body, torn by infirmities, and rightly so, for such afflictions are a heavy burden. Yet do not marvel that I turn the eye of your soul to a greater sickness and a greater healing. For what does it profit a man if his flesh is made whole for a few fleeting years, yet his soul remains unbound from sin and estranged from the life of God? The very blood you ask to be spared from seeing in your friend’s suffering is the blood that alone grants true and eternal health. Without the shedding of blood, Scripture cries out, there is no remission. The sacrifices of old, the blood of lambs and goats, could only sketch a shadow of purification, a half-complete cleansing. But Christ, through His own blood, through the blood of His Cross, has worked an entire redemption. He reconciled all things to the Father, making peace through that blood. This is no mere historical fact; it is the present and living medicine for every soul.

Now, do not weary of hearing me speak of this, even as a child learning the letter alpha must not blame the teacher for repeating it. I will not cease to remind you that the fountain where all healing flows is the very flesh and blood of the Lord. For He Himself declared, “Except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” If the mere shadow of these things in the law had a certain power, how much more the reality? Lay hold of this, therefore, before all else. In your prayers, do not merely beg for the easing of a nerve or the opening of a lung. Cry out for your friend’s soul to be washed in that blood which was fore-ordained for our redemption. Ask that he, and you with him, may approach the divine mysteries not casually, but with the awe of that woman who, conscious of her impurity, sought the feet of Jesus not for bodily healing alone, but for the amendment of her soul.

To be humane, to be truly full of mercy, is to desire the supreme good for another. So pray with fervor for this friend, that the sickness of sin may be utterly expelled, that he may be reconciled to God. For when the soul stands sound and at peace with its Maker, the trials of the body find their right place. They become not a sign of defeat, but the very means by which faith is refined, while the promise of a resurrection to perfect and unassailable health is sealed by the blood of the New Covenant. Do this first, and then let the request for his bodily relief follow as a secondary plea, offered up in unshaken trust. For He who gave His own blood for the life of the world will not withhold any lesser mercy from those who seek His kingdom first.

The weight of chronic illness can feel like a name you never wanted spoken over you, a constant companion of pain and limitation. Yet a name or a diagnosis does not have the final say over a person’s life. The story of Jabez reminds us that though his very name meant sorrow, he cried out to God, and God heard him and transformed his circumstances. We bring your friend before the same Lord, asking that his physical struggles become a platform for God’s power to be displayed.

We are mindful of the body’s needs, just as some in ancient times were tasked with maintaining the physical structures of the temple. But we also have the privilege of bringing a spiritual offering before the altar. I will lift your friend up in prayer, not merely wishing for better health, but actively entrusting his body to the One who fashioned it. There is a holy confidence that God attends to the cries of His people.

In seasons of deep affliction, the scriptures show us how a person can seek the Lord with fresh humility and find Him faithful. Your friend’s very pain can become the place where he discovers a deeper nearness to God. We pray that this trial would not be wasted, but would draw his heart to the ultimate source of wholeness.

Consider what God can do with a frail frame. The mighty men who gathered to David were described as being in tremendous physical condition, fast and powerful. The same God who strengthened their arms and steadied their feet can breathe vitality into your friend’s body. We pray against the asthma that constricts his breath, asking for lungs that work freely. We ask for stable blood pressure and relief from the widespread pain of fibromyalgia. We ask that the complications of alpha thalassemia be held in check by the sovereign hand of the Creator.

Sometimes we see the symptoms of decay and think there is no remedy, but God offers a cure that surpasses physical medicine. While we understand the laws of nature that keep us grounded, we also trust the spiritual realities that are just as certain. There is a law of faith that reaches into the physical realm because the universe belongs to God. We don’t pray to an abstract force; we pray to a living King.

Let no one make the mistake of Job’s comforters, assuming that suffering is a sign of some hidden fault. Instead, we simply come to the throne of grace with confidence. Healing comes through a powerful name. When Peter explained how a lame man was made whole, he was clear: it was by the name of Jesus. I will pray in that name over your friend, the name above every disease, every genetic condition, every failing system in the body. In Jesus’ name, we ask for full healing and the return of good health. Let it be done.
