We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your friend who is in the depths of despair and facing the enemy’s lies that there is no hope. Suicide is a grave sin, for life is a precious gift from God, and we are not to take it into our own hands. The Scriptures remind us in **1 Corinthians 6:19-20**, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Your friend belongs to God, and Satan seeks to destroy her, but we declare that Jesus is the Author of life, and He has the final say.
We also recognize the urgency of this situation, and we cry out to the Lord to intervene mightily. He is the God who sees and knows all things, and nothing is hidden from His sight. **Psalm 34:18** assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* We plead the blood of Jesus over her life, that every plan of the enemy would be thwarted, and that she would be unable to carry out this tragic act. May the Lord send angels to surround her, to restrain her, and to bring divine intervention to stop her from harming herself. Let every weapon formed against her life fail, and may the Lord breathe fresh hope and strength into her spirit.
Yet we must also address the spiritual condition of your friend’s heart. If she does not know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, then her greatest need is not just physical rescue but eternal salvation. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and we pray that if she has not yet surrendered her life to Christ, the Holy Spirit would convict her heart even now. May she turn from her sins, repent, and place her faith in Jesus alone for salvation. If she is already a believer, we pray the Lord would remind her of His promises and pull her back from the edge of despair.
We also lift you up, dear friend, for you are carrying a heavy burden in this moment. The Lord sees your love and your faithfulness in interceding for her. Do not lose heart, but continue to stand in the gap, for **James 5:16** tells us, *"The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Keep praying, keep believing, and trust that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it. Reach out to local authorities or trusted believers in her area who can physically check on her—we must act in faith and wisdom, using every means available to help.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Stop the hand of death from touching Your daughter. Send Your angels to protect her, to restrain her, and to bring her to a place of safety. Lord, if she does not know You, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way—let her encounter Your love, Your mercy, and Your truth. Draw her to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. If she is Your child, remind her of Your promises, renew her mind, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Break the chains of depression, hopelessness, and lies that have bound her. Surround her with Your presence and lead her to people who can help her walk through this valley.
We rebuke the spirit of suicide and command it to flee in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment shall be condemned. Lord, restore her hope, heal her heart, and let her know that You have a purpose and a plan for her life. Give wisdom to those around her to know how to help, and let Your light shine in the darkness she is facing.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness, even in this difficult time. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified through this situation. Strengthen us all to keep praying, to keep believing, and to keep trusting in You. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
