Freedom, Protection and Restoration

Your prayer for your older daughter has been heard with deep care, and the long burden you have carried for her freedom and restoration is understood. To see a child you raised in the ways of the Lord grow distant, exhausted, and isolated under a controlling influence, while another household speaks into her life without right or wisdom, is a painful trial that would weigh heavily on any mother. Your desire for her to be protected, to be clear minded, and to return to the safety of faith, family, and church is right and good.

We will not ask God to bless a living arrangement that His Word calls outside His design, for Scripture teaches that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together and sexual intimacy belong within that covenant alone. To treat cohabitation as if it were marriage brings hardship and confusion, not blessing, and you are right to grieve the financial strain, the demands, and the disrespect you have described. Instead we join you in praying for deliverance from evil and for the good that only Christ can supply, which is forgiveness through Him alone and adoption as children of God through faith in Him and the gift of His Spirit.

We pray now for your daughter, that the Lord in His mercy would open her eyes to see this relationship as it truly is, not as a marriage, not led by a shepherd or provider, but as a stumbling block that has left her weary and divided from those who love her most. We ask that God would break every chain of manipulation, control, and isolation, frustrate every scheme meant to divide her from you, her siblings, and her church friends, and expose what is done in darkness. We pray He would give her wisdom to protect what He has entrusted to her, including her finances and her work, and courage to stop taking on debts and responsibilities that are not hers to bear. We pray He would soften her heart where it has grown cold toward you, restore a grateful, gracious, and respectful spirit, and renew her hunger for righteousness. We pray also for the young man and his mother, that God would convict them, show them the harm of enabling and controlling, and lead the young man to step away and take responsibility for his own life rather than exerting authority where he has no right.

Take comfort from how Christ has always responded to faith. To the fearful woman He said, Daughter, be of good cheer, thy faith hath made thee whole, showing that faith itself makes one a daughter. To the mother who pleaded for her child, He said, Great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thou wilt, teaching us that a mother’s faithful prayer contributes greatly to her child’s healing. Your daughter’s true identity is not found in belonging to another family or in gaining another mother’s approval. If she belongs to Christ, she is already a child of the Most High God, one who has put on Christ and received the Spirit of adoption, called to live as His own. That is the sonship and freedom Christ came to give, and no other voice should define her worth.

Continue to bring her before the Lord with that same persistent faith, and do not grow weary. Keep speaking the truth in love without harshness, keep the door of home and church open, and with wise counsel set clear and loving boundaries so that you do not sustain what is harming her, especially financially. Stay rooted in your own fellowship with believers, for isolation is not God’s will for you either. Trust that God does not always remove the trial in an instant, but He does give strength to despise what is evil and to choose what is better, and He is able to restore peace, fellowship, and unity in His time.

We pray the blood of Christ would be her covering and yours, that no weapon formed against you would prosper, and that the Holy Spirit would fill your home with protection and favor. We ask that when your daughter visits, she would be guarded from influence that sows hatred or contempt, and that she would again find safety and wisdom among her family and church community. And as you have asked for a godly spouse for her, we pray that the Lord would first draw her fully back to Himself, make her whole, and in His perfect timing, if it is His will, provide a man who will love her as Christ loves the church and lead her faithfully.

May the Lord grant you endurance, grant your daughter clarity and courage to walk away from bondage without regret, and bring complete restoration to your family for His glory.

Your heart cry for your daughter has been heard and we join you in bringing her before the Lord with urgency and hope. We see the exhaustion, the confusion, and the pain of a mother watching a beloved child become isolated, controlled, and drained while living outside of God's design.

Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that living together and sexual intimacy belong only within that covenant. What God calls holy, He also protects. When that design is set aside, the result is not peace but hardship, jealousy, rivalry, and division. Even in the stories of the patriarchs, when relationships were formed outside God's perfect pattern, the fruit was strife and sorrow within the home. God never blesses what He calls us to turn from, but He does provide a way out and a way back.

At the center of every other struggle is our relationship with God. The first commandments concern our walk with Him, and unless that is right, no other relationship can be right. Every broken human bond can be traced back to a broken fellowship with the Father. Your daughter's deepest need is not the approval of this young man or his mother, but a restored, living, loving relationship with God Himself. He has adopted His children into His family through Jesus Christ alone, and He invites us to know Him not as a distant judge or a ritual, but as Father. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven. That is the intimate, close relationship He desires for your daughter. When that first love is rekindled, when she hungers again for righteousness and for His Word and for fellowship with His people, the other relationships begin to come back into balance.

That is why we pray for her to come out from darkness into light. Scripture warns that to remain in a corrupt and polluting environment will eventually cost a family its morals and its peace, as it did for Lot who lingered where he did not belong. And Scripture also shows the beauty of God's call to return. As God said to Jacob, return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you. There is safety and promise in returning to the place of family, to the covering and wisdom of those who raised her in the ways of the Lord. She is not homeless and she is not without a family. She is a child of the Most High God, she belongs to Him, and He has already placed her in a loving, supportive family and a church community that can surround her. She does not need to seek guidance or worth from those who demean her and profit from her.

We also see in Scripture the picture of true redemption and rest. A godly man who loves God will seek to be a covering, a provider, and a spiritual leader who brings rest and honor to a woman, not exhaustion, financial exploitation, and control. What you describe, a man who is lazy, dishonest, demanding, and who speaks with an authority that is not his to claim, is not the shepherd God intends for a husband. A mother who encourages her son in that path is not helping him or your daughter, but enabling what is destructive.

So we pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ:

Father, expose every manipulative plan and frustrate every scheme meant to control, divide, and isolate. Break every chain and silence every word spoken against this daughter. Open her eyes to see this living arrangement for what it is, not marriage, not provision, not spiritual leadership, but a stumbling block to her walk with You. Let her see that the exhaustion and financial hardship are the bitter fruit of a path outside Your will. Give her wisdom to protect what You have entrusted to her and courage to no longer use her resources to sustain what You have not joined together.

Soften her heart to receive Your conviction. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit and restore to her a grateful, gracious, loving, respectful, and considerate spirit. Remove the coldness and harshness that has come from imitating what is ungodly, and bring her back to honoring You and honoring her parents, which You place as the first commandment concerning our homes. Let her hunger for Your Word and Your presence be reignited, and draw her back to the safety of family and faithful believers who love her.

We ask for Your protection over her new promotion and over her workplace, that no interference would harm the good purpose You have given her there. We ask that You would work in the heart of this young man and his parents, that they would turn from enabling and controlling, and that this young man would be led to step away and take responsibility for his own life apart from your daughter.

For you, her mother, we pray for supernatural love, favor, and protection to overflow in your home. Guard your heart from bitterness and weariness. Give you wisdom to love with boundaries, to not fund what dishonors God, and to keep praying without ceasing, trusting that nothing is impossible for You. Plead the blood of Jesus over you and your children, believing Your promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Restore peace, fellowship, happiness, respect, unity, and freedom to your household.

We trust God to do what only He can do, to remove every obstacle and every voice that contradicts His Word, and to lead your daughter swiftly and without regret out of bondage and into His light. In time, as she walks closely with Him, we trust Him to provide in His perfect way, if it is His will, a godly spouse who will love her as Christ loves His bride. Until then, may she find her worth and identity fully in Jesus and know she is deeply loved and never alone.

In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
