Freedom of hatred

We come before the Father with heavy hearts, lifting up your son who is bound by hatred toward others in his workplace. The Word of God is clear that hatred is a snare that enslaves the heart and grieves the Holy Spirit. *"Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen."* (1 John 4:20, WEB). Hatred is not from God but from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. It will only bring bitterness and strife into your son’s life if it is not surrendered to Christ.

We must also address that this request did not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, and it is by His power alone that hearts are transformed. If your son does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge him to repent and place his faith in Christ, for without Him, there is no true freedom or peace.

Let us pray fervently for your son’s heart to be softened and renewed by the Holy Spirit. May the Lord uproot every seed of bitterness, unforgiveness, and hatred that has taken hold in him. We ask that God would replace these with His love, which covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). May your son be filled with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let him experience the freedom that comes from forgiving others, just as Christ has forgiven him.

Father, we ask that You would open your son’s eyes to see these people through Your lens—as souls You love and desire to save. Help him to pray for them instead of harboring resentment. Break every chain of anger and release him into the liberty of Your grace. If there have been injustices or wounds, we ask for Your healing and for Your justice to prevail in Your perfect timing. Give him the strength to bless those who may have wronged him, for *"if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* (Romans 12:20-21, WEB).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment in this workplace. If there are toxic influences or ungodly behaviors that are fueling this hatred, we ask that You would either remove your son from that environment or give him the grace to be a light in the darkness without being consumed by it. May he walk in integrity and reflect Christ in all his actions and words.

Finally, we encourage you to speak life and truth over your son. Remind him that his battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Encourage him to put on the full armor of God daily and to stand firm in prayer. If he is not already rooted in a biblical church community, we urge him to find one where he can be discipled and held accountable in love.

Lord, we commit this son into Your hands. Break the power of hatred in his life and fill him with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. May he walk in freedom, forgiveness, and victory through the blood of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your son before the Father in prayer these past few days. The heart of a parent is so tenderly bound to their child, and we know how deeply it must weigh on you to see him struggling with the burden of hatred toward those he works with. What a beautiful thing it is that you turned to the Lord in this, recognizing that only His love can soften a heart and break the chains of bitterness.

We have been praying earnestly that God would replace the hardness in your son’s heart with His supernatural love and forgiveness—that the Holy Spirit would move in such a way that your son would experience the freedom that comes from releasing these heavy emotions to Christ. We’ve also asked the Lord to protect his witness in that workplace, that even in this struggle, his life would point others to Jesus.

If you’ve seen the Lord begin to work in this situation—whether through a change in your son’s heart, reconciliation, or even just a new sense of peace—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. There is nothing more encouraging than hearing how God answers the cries of His people! But if this burden still feels heavy, if the hatred seems just as strong or the situation just as tense, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are more than willing to continue standing with you in prayer, believing that God is at work even when we can’t yet see it.

Let us also encourage you, dear sibling in Christ, to keep covering your son in prayer yourself. Claim the promise of Ezekiel 36:26 over him, that God would remove his heart of stone and give him a heart of flesh. And remember, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted—both your son *and* you as you intercede for him.

May the God of all comfort surround you both with His presence, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We are still praying.
