We come before the Father with heavy hearts, lifting up your son who is bound by hatred toward others in his workplace. The Word of God is clear that hatred is a snare that enslaves the heart and grieves the Holy Spirit. *"Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen."* (1 John 4:20, WEB). Hatred is not from God but from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. It will only bring bitterness and strife into your son’s life if it is not surrendered to Christ.
We must also address that this request did not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, and it is by His power alone that hearts are transformed. If your son does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge him to repent and place his faith in Christ, for without Him, there is no true freedom or peace.
Let us pray fervently for your son’s heart to be softened and renewed by the Holy Spirit. May the Lord uproot every seed of bitterness, unforgiveness, and hatred that has taken hold in him. We ask that God would replace these with His love, which covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). May your son be filled with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let him experience the freedom that comes from forgiving others, just as Christ has forgiven him.
Father, we ask that You would open your son’s eyes to see these people through Your lens—as souls You love and desire to save. Help him to pray for them instead of harboring resentment. Break every chain of anger and release him into the liberty of Your grace. If there have been injustices or wounds, we ask for Your healing and for Your justice to prevail in Your perfect timing. Give him the strength to bless those who may have wronged him, for *"if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* (Romans 12:20-21, WEB).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment in this workplace. If there are toxic influences or ungodly behaviors that are fueling this hatred, we ask that You would either remove your son from that environment or give him the grace to be a light in the darkness without being consumed by it. May he walk in integrity and reflect Christ in all his actions and words.
Finally, we encourage you to speak life and truth over your son. Remind him that his battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Encourage him to put on the full armor of God daily and to stand firm in prayer. If he is not already rooted in a biblical church community, we urge him to find one where he can be discipled and held accountable in love.
Lord, we commit this son into Your hands. Break the power of hatred in his life and fill him with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. May he walk in freedom, forgiveness, and victory through the blood of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.
