We lift up your brother and ### before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to break every chain of bondage in their lives. The habits of smoking and drinking are not only harmful to their physical health but also enslave their spirits, keeping them from the freedom that Christ offers. We declare that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). We rebuke the grip of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is written, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Your concern for their salvation is deeply felt, and we join you in praying that their hearts would be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which they can be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), drawing them to repentance and faith in Christ. May they surrender their lives fully to Him, for "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Lord, we ask You to surround them with godly influences—believers who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into their lives. Protect them from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to keep them in darkness. Fill them with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6), and let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8). We pray for divine appointments where they will hear the Gospel clearly and respond with faith. Strengthen their will to resist temptation, and let them experience the joy and peace that come from walking in Your ways.
Father, we also pray for you, dear one, as you intercede for them. Guard your heart from fear and anxiety, for "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). Trust in the Lord’s timing and power to save, for "with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). May you be a light to them, reflecting Christ’s love and patience as you pray and speak truth in love.
We stand in agreement with you, believing that the chains of addiction will be broken, and your brother and ### will be set free to live for God’s glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
