We lift up your brother and ### before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to break every chain of bondage in their lives. The habits of smoking and drinking are not only harmful to their physical health but also enslave their spirits, keeping them from the freedom that Christ offers. We declare that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). We rebuke the grip of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is written, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Your concern for their salvation is deeply felt, and we join you in praying that their hearts would be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which they can be saved (Acts 4:12).
