We join you in lifting up your daughter and your family before the throne of grace, and we stand with you in agreement for her freedom and restoration in Jesus' name. We hear the burden you carry as a mother who sees the deception, financial exploitation, and spiritual bondage that has come through this toxic relationship, and we commend you for interceding so faithfully and for discerning what is not of the Lord.
We agree with you that no child of God is called to conform to ungodly ways or to seek approval from those who would lead her away from truth. As it is written, Romans 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. And 2 Corinthians 6:14 Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? When a relationship is marked by control, rebellion, financial exploitation and spiritual heaviness, it is not reflecting the shepherding, selfless love that God intends for marriage.
You are right to pray that her eyes would be opened, for we know the enemy blinds and deceives. John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. We pray that the Lord would gently but firmly remove every veil, that she would see clearly that this young man is not her husband, is not prepared to be a godly husband, and is not ready to bear the responsibilities of marriage as God designed it. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and a godly man is called to love his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, Ephesians 5:25. A boyfriend should be a suitor in courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer, not someone who drains, controls, or leads away from family and church.
We must also address with love and truth what you mentioned about her desire to live with him outside of marriage. The Word of God is clear that sex before and outside of marriage is fornication and is sin against God and against one's own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. And Ephesians 5:3 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints. We rebuke that deception that would tell her this is love or that cohabitation is acceptable, and we pray she will hunger for righteousness instead of defending what harms her spiritually, emotionally, and financially. The burden she carries for this young man and his family is not hers to bear, and we ask the Lord to lift every false sense of obligation and replace stubbornness with a soft, teachable heart that honors You.
We also stand with you regarding the ungodly influence of this young man's mother. Scripture calls children to honor their father and mother, Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and it is not right for another woman to overstep, sow division, and seek to replace a mother's godly place or to draw your daughter away from her church home and family fellowship. We pray the Lord would expose every motive of disrespect, jealousy, manipulation and control, and frustrate every plan meant to divide, isolate, or corrupt your family. Galatians 5:1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. And James 4:7 Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
We join you in praying for godly spouses for your daughters, men who will love them as Christ loves the church, lead them in righteousness, provide, protect, and honor the covenant of marriage as God intended, rather than exploit or conform them to selfish ways. We pray that your home would indeed be a beacon of His light and that the Lord would restore what has been broken, for He promises Joel 2:25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. And we declare with you Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh.
So we pray together now. Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You and plead the blood of Jesus over this mother and her children. Lord, break every chain of deception, financial exploitation, and spiritual bondage that has held this daughter. Open her eyes to see the truth, remove rebellion and stubbornness and give her a hunger for Your righteousness. Convict her heart about fornication and living outside of marriage and turn her heart back to purity and to Your will. Lift every false burden and obligation from her, and draw her back to the safety of Your will, to the love and support of her family, and to the fellowship of her church. We ask that You block every plot, plan and scheme of the enemy to cause chaos, isolation and division in this family, especially in the coming holiday seasons, and let every plan of the enemy to divide or destroy this family fail. Expose and frustrate the ungodly counsel that has sought to lead her down a dark path, and restore in her a thankful heart that honors You and honors her parents as You command. Give this mother peace, wisdom, and strength to continue to stand in love and truth without growing weary, trusting that You fight for her. Heal what has been wounded, restore what has been stolen, and prepare godly husbands for her daughters in Your perfect timing. We thank You that You hear us because we come only through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne. We trust You for complete freedom and restoration. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
