We stand with you in deep concern and fervent prayer for your daughter, lifting her situation before the throne of grace. The distortions you’ve identified—control masquerading as love, cohabitation replacing covenant, isolation as protection, and manipulation as respect—are indeed lies from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). These are not the ways of our Lord, who calls us to freedom, truth, and holy relationships built on mutual respect and godly love.
The Word of God is clear: *"Do not be deceived. Bad company corrupts good character"* (1 Corinthians 15:33). A relationship that isolates, manipulates, or drains spiritually and financially is not of God. Marriage, as He designed it, is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, entered into with wisdom, accountability, and the blessing of family and the body of Christ (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33). Cohabitation outside of marriage is not His design and opens the door to bondage rather than blessing. We rebuke the spirit of deception that has clouded your daughter’s discernment and pray that the scales would fall from her eyes to see this relationship for what it truly is—a snare.
Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. We pray for Your protection over this young woman, that You would surround her with Your angels and hedge her in from the schemes of the enemy (Psalm 91:11). Break the chains of deception and manipulation that have bound her, Lord. Let Your truth penetrate her heart like a sword, cutting through the lies she has believed (Hebrews 4:12). We declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have a future and a hope for her (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that she would experience a peaceful and productive day at work, free from distraction or distress, and that Your presence would go before her in every task.
We ask, Lord, that You would soften her heart to the idea of returning home, where she can be surrounded by love, truth, and godly counsel. Give her the courage to take that step swiftly, without delay, and grant her favor in making the necessary arrangements. We pray for the young man and his family as well, that their eyes would be opened to the harm they are causing and that they would repent and turn from their ways. If it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would bring conviction and restoration, but if not, we pray for Your justice and deliverance for this precious daughter.
We also lift up the family, asking for wisdom, patience, and grace as they navigate this difficult season. Help them to extend love without enabling, to speak truth without condemnation, and to trust in Your timing and Your ways. May they be a light to her, reflecting Your love and Your Word in all they do.
Above all, we pray that Your will be done in this situation, Lord. We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
