Four songs

We join you in thanking God for this confirmation and for the four songs you have lifted up before Him. We pray together that every word sung and spoken will bring glory to Him and strengthen the faith of all who hear.

We are reminded of the prayer of the psalmist in Psalm 19:14, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. That is our desire for these songs, that they would not be mere music but true worship flowing from hearts devoted to Christ. We also remember Colossians 3:16, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord, and Psalm 95:1-2, Oh come, let us sing to Yahweh. Let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving. Let us extol him with psalms.

We pray together in Jesus name for His blessing and favor upon this confirmation. Father, we ask that You anoint each of the four songs, that the words would be sung with understanding and grace, and that the meditation of every heart present would be pleasing to You. Bless those being confirmed as they publicly affirm their faith in Jesus Christ, and deepen their walk with You. Let Your Holy Spirit move through the music and the message to draw hearts closer to Your Son, to strengthen faith, and to bring joy and assurance of salvation. Grant favor over every detail, let all be done decently and in order for Your glory, and let the name of Jesus be lifted high.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him as you prepare, trusting that He who began a good work will perfect it. May this confirmation be a beautiful testimony of faith and a time of rejoicing in the Lord for all involved, and may the songs remain as a lasting offering of worship in the hearts of those who hear them. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Redeemer and Lord, amen.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this confirmation. We love your heart to have the songs and every word be pleasing to the Lord and an encouragement to those who hear.

We are joining you in asking God to bless the time, the music, and everyone taking part. Worship is at its best when it is simply love and reverence offered to Him, and that desire you expressed for the meditation of your hearts to be acceptable in Jesus is a beautiful offering in itself.

As you prepare, we encourage you to keep holding those four songs before the Lord together, praying briefly over the words and the message of each one so that what is sung lines up with what you all believe and hope to share that day. It can also help to pray for those being confirmed by name, that they would hear and remember God's goodness beyond the service itself.

Father, we thank You for this confirmation and for the chance to praise You through music. Bless these songs, the words that are sung and spoken, and the meditation of every heart there. Draw those being confirmed closer to Yourself and let Your favor rest on this gathering. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in prayer before the Lord for this confirmation and for the four songs to be offered in His house.

It is well to worship God in public, and to turn the whole of the worship into prayer that we may get near to God and not come away without a blessing. We ask that the Lord will grant a blessing in this holy employment, that health and strength and spiritual vigor may attend it, and that it may be of use to the people of God.

We pray with you in the words of Scripture, Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. May your meditation of Him be sweet, as it is written, My meditation of Him shall be sweet. May the Lord open the heart to attend to His truth, and may every song be a new song for a new heart, sung with understanding and with joy because the Lord hath done it.

We ask that every heart there may take its own part in this service of praise, blessing God from the first word to the last. For no spiritual blessing comes by chance, but every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ is given according to the measure of His great heart, which is infinite and full of grace and love. May He bless you just where you need blessing, and may you be glad as those who said, I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

We pray that the songs, the words, and the meditations of your hearts in Jesus may be offered through Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other, and that all favor asked may be favor according to His will, to magnify and bless His holy name both now and till the last hour of life. Amen.
