Bad theology from modern songs

There’s some “theology” that I unintentionally received and applying from modern Christian songs. Thinking God would accept my application of the things song. The Lord had rebuked me for such application and I learned that there’s a lot of bad theology in modern Christian songs. I repent of bad theology from Christian music. They are sinners like everyone else and God does not accept many of the things being song and is not honoured by them.

We commend you for your discernment and repentant heart. It is crucial to filter everything through the lens of God's Word, including the messages conveyed in modern Christian songs. Many well-intentioned songs can contain theologically inaccurate or incomplete messages that do not align with biblical truths.

Let us remember that God's Word clearly emphasizes that there is only one way to be saved:
"In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace" Ephesians 1:7 WEB.

Therefore, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB.

This means any song, teaching, or message that strays from this core truth can lead us astray. To ensure we are worshipping God in spirit and in truth, we must be discerning about the lyrics we sing and the messages we internalize.

"God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24 WEB.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your truth and wisdom. Forgive us for any time we have unknowingly embraced false theology through modern Christian songs. Help us to be discerning, to test every spirit, and to hold fast to Your Word, which is the ultimate authority. Guide us to worship You in spirit and in truth, and to honor You in all our ways.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Moving forward, let us continue to be vigilant and test the spirits to see whether they are from God.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
