Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an adulterous marriage. The Word of God is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother, though born again, has bound himself to someone who does not share his faith, and in doing so, has grieved the Holy Spirit.

The Lord’s heart for His people is one of restoration, as we see in Hosea 2:19-23. He desires to betroth us in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness, and mercy. But restoration requires repentance, a turning away from sin and a returning to the Lord with a contrite heart. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We must pray fervently that this brother recognizes the gravity of his actions and humbles himself before God, seeking His forgiveness and guidance.

The sin of fornication is not a light matter. The Bible warns, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:18-19). This brother must understand that his body is not his own, it belongs to the Lord, and he is called to honor Him with it. The marriage he has entered into is not only adulterous in God’s eyes but also unequally yoked, which brings spiritual strife and hinders his walk with Christ.

We must also address the reality that this brother has distanced himself from God. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this brother is truly born again, the Holy Spirit will convict him of his sin and draw him back to repentance. But if he continues in this path without repentance, we must question the authenticity of his faith. "No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him" (1 John 3:6). We pray that this is not the case, but we must also be honest about the seriousness of unrepentant sin.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts for this brother who has strayed from Your path. Lord, we ask that You would break through the hardness of his heart and bring him to a place of deep repentance. Convict him of the sin of fornication and the adulterous marriage he has entered into. Help him to see that this union is not pleasing to You and that it is hindering his relationship with You. Father, we pray that he would flee from sexual immorality and honor You with his body, which is Your temple.

Lord, we ask that You would reveal to him the truth of Your Word, that he cannot be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. Give him the strength and courage to seek Your will above all else, even if it means making difficult and painful decisions. We pray that he would turn away from this sin and run back into Your arms, where he will find forgiveness, mercy, and restoration.

Father, we also pray for the woman involved in this adulterous marriage. If she is not a believer, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself and open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel. If she claims to be a Christian, we pray that she too would repent of her sin and seek Your face.

Lord, we know that Your plans for this brother are good, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that he would surrender his life fully to You and trust in Your perfect will. Restore him, O Lord, and let him walk in the freedom and joy that comes from living in obedience to You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before Your throne. May Your will be done in this brother’s life, and may You be glorified in all things. Amen.

To this brother, we say: Do not despair, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Return to Him with all your heart, and He will restore you. The path of repentance is not easy, but it is the only path that leads to true peace and joy. Seek godly counsel from mature believers who can walk with you through this process. The Lord is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
