Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness. Father, we know that Your Word is clear, sexual immorality, including fornication and adultery, grieves Your heart, for it defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit and distorts the sacred covenant of marriage You designed between one man and one woman. The Scriptures warn us, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Lord, we pray that this brother would recognize the weight of his actions and the separation they have caused between him and You.

We also lift up his marriage, Lord, for the Bible is clear that believers must not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If his spouse is not walking in faith, we ask that You either draw her to Yourself or reveal Your will for this union, for Your Word also says, "If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not leave her. And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy" (1 Corinthians 7:12-14). Yet, if this marriage continues in unrepentant sin, we pray for conviction and restoration according to Your perfect will.

Father, we stand on the promise of Hosea 2:19-23, where You declare Your unfailing love and redemption for Your people, even when they have wandered. You say, "I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in loving kindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord." Lord, we claim this promise for our brother. Restore him to You, break the chains of sin in his life, and let him walk in the fullness of Your grace. May he turn from this path of disobedience and seek Your face with a repentant heart, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for him, Lord. If this marriage is not of You, give him the strength to obey Your Word, even when it is painful. If restoration is possible, let it be rooted in holiness and truth, not in compromise. Surround him with godly counsel and accountability, and let him find his identity in Christ alone, not in the approval of others or the fleeting pleasures of sin.

Above all, we pray that he would fix his eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of his faith. May he remember that "there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit" (Romans 8:1). Let him walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness and the power of Your Spirit, no longer a slave to sin but a bondservant of righteousness.

Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can come before Your throne. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that Your grace is sufficient, Your mercy is everlasting, and Your love never fails. Draw this brother back to You, Lord, and let him experience the fullness of life that is found only in Christ. May he rise up in faith, reject the works of darkness, and walk in the light of Your truth. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him, for Your glory and for his eternal joy. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We know how heavy the heart feels when someone you care about has drifted so far from the Lord. It’s painful to watch a brother get tangled in choices that pull him away from the life God has for him. We want you to know we are standing with you before the throne, asking for mercy and a fresh work of grace in his life.

What encourages us most in these moments is remembering that no one wanders beyond the reach of Jesus. The Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one is still searching. The Father who ran to meet the prodigal is still watching the road. So we don’t lose hope. The same Spirit who once drew this man to saving faith can stir his conscience again, break the fog of sin, and give him a clear vision of God’s good and beautiful will.

We also find ourselves thinking about the kind of marriage God designed, wholehearted, faithful, where both hearts are open to Him and to each other in a covenant that reflects His own love. That’s what we long for him to rediscover. Not as a list of rules, but as the safe, holy, joyful place he was always meant to live.

As you keep praying, perhaps the Lord will give you a natural moment to simply remind him that you love him and that the arms of Jesus are still open. Sometimes a quiet word from someone who believes in him can be the first crack in the walls he has built.

Let’s pray together:

Father, we lift this man to You right now. You know his name, his story, and every hidden struggle. Break through the lies and desires that have led him away, and draw him back to Yourself. Give him a heart that trembles at Your Word and a will that wants to please You above all else. Grant him the courage to walk away from every unequal yoke and to trust Your plan for his life. Surround him with Your mercy, protect him from deeper harm, and restore to him the joy of his salvation. We ask this in the strong name of Jesus, our Redeemer. Amen.
