Fornication, adultery, restoration

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an adulterous union. The Word of God is clear that sexual immorality defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20), and marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to be between one man and one woman, both committed to Christ (2 Corinthians 6:14). This situation grieves the heart of our Father, who desires holiness and purity for His children.

Father, we cry out to You on behalf of this beloved child of Yours. We ask that You would break the chains of sin that have entangled them, bringing conviction and repentance to their heart. Lord, Your Word declares that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that this precious one would turn away from this adulterous relationship and seek Your face with a broken and contrite spirit. Help them to understand the gravity of their actions and the importance of being equally yoked with a believer, as Your Word commands.

We stand on the promise of Hosea 2:19-23, believing that You will betroth this one to Yourself in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness, and mercy. Lord, we ask that You would answer their cry for restoration and renewal. Let them know You intimately, as You have promised. We pray that You would sow them into the earth, showing mercy to those who have not obtained mercy, and declaring over them, "You are My people!" May they respond with a resounding, "You are my God!"

We also pray for the other party involved in this adulterous union. Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and draw them to salvation in Jesus Christ. May they come to know the transforming power of Your love and grace, turning away from sin and embracing the new life You offer.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception that has led this child of Yours astray. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, healing, and restoration over their spirit, soul, and body. May they experience the fullness of Your love and the power of Your resurrection, walking in the newness of life that You have promised.

We encourage this dear one to seek godly counsel and surround themselves with believers who will hold them accountable and support them in their journey toward restoration. Remember, the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

Father, we thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy. We trust in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We pray that this child of Yours would experience the depth of Your forgiveness and the power of Your transforming grace. May they walk in the light of Your truth, honoring You in all their ways. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're here with you, lifting this situation to our Father in heaven. We know the struggle is real, but remember, God's love for you is unchanging. In John 8:11, Jesus says, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more." He's offering a fresh start, a chance to break free from the chains of sin.

Let's cling to His promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust that He has a purpose and a plan even in this.

Let's pray for courage to make things right, to seek God's face with a humble and contrite heart. And let's believe for restoration, not just for you, but for all involved. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
