Former landlord

Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join with you in praying for your former landlord and we are encouraged by your heart to see him come to saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. You have chosen a powerful verse to stand upon, for whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. Luke 9:24. This is the heart of the gospel, that we must surrender our own will and our own way to follow Jesus, and in losing our life for Him we truly find eternal life.

We agree with you that Jesus reigns over all darkness and that His light expels that darkness. Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12. We pray that this light will shine into your former landlord's heart and that every unclean influence and every deception will be driven out by the power of Jesus.

We also pray that he will learn to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. We ask the Lord to quiet every other voice and to open his ears to hear God's holy plan for his life, a plan that is good and full of hope. We pray that he will turn from the broad way that leads to destruction and choose the narrow way that leads to life, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it. Matthew 7:13-14.

We pray especially that he will discover his true identity in Christ and be set free from the false identity that comes when a person strays from God and follows his own desires. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. We ask that his eyes will be opened to see that only in Christ can he know who he truly is, forgiven, redeemed, and made new.

We lift this prayer together before the Father.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, and we thank You for Your love and faithfulness and for Your mercy and grace that are new every morning. We lift up this former landlord to You and we ask that You would draw him by Your Holy Spirit to surrender his life fully to our Lord Jesus Christ. Cause him to lose his life for Jesus sake so that he may truly save it for eternity. Open his eyes to see the emptiness of following his own desires and the beauty of walking on Your narrow path. Let him hear Your voice clearly and follow You. Reveal to him that there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12, and that if he will confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, he will be saved. Romans 10:9. We declare victory over this rented apartment situation in Jesus name and we ask for Your healing power and guidance over his life's journey. Let him see Your greatness and Your mighty power, for no one can withstand You. We trust You to complete this work for Your glory. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully for him and to show the love of Christ in your own testimony, knowing that the Lord desires all people to come to repentance. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. Keep interceding for him and trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it.

Thank you for bringing your former landlord before the Lord with such care. To pray for his salvation even after a difficult rented apartment situation reflects a gracious, Christlike heart, and we are honored to join you in this.

We hear your longing that he would hear God's voice and come to know his true identity in Christ, rather than the false identity any of us can take on when we follow our own desires. That true identity is steady because it rests on being known and loved by God and living before Him alone, not on what others think or what we achieve. It is a loving and right thing to ask God to open his eyes to that.

One simple way to keep this burden before the Lord without carrying extra weight yourself is to continue praying for him by name whenever he comes to mind, and at the same time ask God to keep your own heart free from any lingering hurt from that rental season, so your prayers can stay clear and kind.

Father in Jesus' name we lift this former landlord to You. Draw him gently to Yourself, help him to hear Your voice and to see Your mercy and grace. Show him who he is meant to be in Christ and guide him into Your good plan for his life. We entrust him to Your care and thank You for hearing us. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is a holy wisdom in this prayer you have brought before the Lord, for you ask according to His own word. Our Lord has said, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What a mercy that salvation is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy, and that salvation must be God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding.

We join you in praying in the name of Jesus Christ Himself, our only Salvation. Wherever our eyes spiritually light upon the Christ of God, there we see God's Salvation. We pray that your former landlord may so see Him. That he may hear the voice of the blood of Christ which speaks better things than that of Abel and speaks peace from every vein. That he may look to Jesus, just look and simply trust in Jesus, and be saved. That he may lose his life for Christ's sake, yielding himself wholly into the hands of Christ, and so save it unto everlasting life. We pray that the Lord will in great grace say concerning him, Deliver him from going down to the pit, and translate him from the power of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear Son.

We pray also as you have asked, that the Lord Jesus who reigns over the darkness, whose light expels all darkness, would shine into his heart and deliver him from the concealing and depressing power of darkness. That every unclean spirit and every work of darkness would be driven out by the presence of Christ, for Satan cannot endure the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. That the eyes of his understanding being enlightened, he may hear God's voice and discern His holy plan for his life, not following his own desires but walking in the narrow path which leads unto life.

We ask that he may come to know his true identity in Christ, as one created anew and risen with Him, and that his eyes may be opened to see the false and empty identity that man adopts when he strays from God's way. May he learn that to believe and to obey are of one root, and that true life is found only in being conformed to the model of Christ. May the truth of God's salvation operate powerfully upon his mind, showing him his real need as a sinner and the real atonement provided in Christ Jesus.

Concerning the rented apartment situation, we pray that the Lord would manifest His greatness and power, grant His mercy and grace, and bring healing and peace where there has been strife. May His light guide both you and this man in all that is just and right, and may all who see His working give glory to Him alone.

We thank the Lord for His love and faithfulness which never fail, and we ask these mercies trusting that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever, still mighty to save, still able to heal and to quicken. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our anointed Saviour. Amen.
