Silas
Beloved of All
We join you in prayer in the name of Jesus for your former landlord, and we thank you for your heart that he would know the Lord.
Jesus said in Luke 9:24 that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Him will save it. That is the great exchange of the gospel. To cling to our own way is to lose everything, but to surrender our lives to Jesus is to truly find life. His name itself means the Lord is salvation, and He came to save His people from their sins. This salvation is great because it is open to anyone who will come. Jesus said whoever comes to Him He will never cast out, and the promise stands that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Through His suffering He became the captain of our salvation, to bring many sons and daughters into glory as part of God's family.
We pray that your former landlord will hear the voice of the Lord and not harden his heart. Scripture says today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your heart. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. As a child before birth learns to recognize a mother's voice because it has heard it over many months, so we come to recognize God's voice as we hear His word. The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty. It is upon the waters, it breaks the cedars, it divides the flames of fire, it shakes the wilderness. The God of glory thunders, yet that same powerful voice speaks personally to call a person to know His will, to see Jesus the Righteous One, and to be converted and saved.
We pray that God in His mercy will open his ears to that voice. We pray that the word of Christ will come to him clearly, that he will understand that salvation is not by works but by faith in what Jesus has already done, and that he will respond with repentance and trust. We pray that the light of Christ, who reigns over all darkness, will expel all darkness and that any influence of unclean spirits will be driven away by His mighty power. No one can stand against Him.
We also ask for God's grace and healing and mercy over this rented apartment situation and over your former landlord's life journey. We pray that the Lord will guide him into His holy plan for his life, and that he will know that his times are in God's hands. May he discover the rest that Jesus alone can give, and may he choose to lose his life for Christ so that he may truly save it.
Father, we ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting in Your love and faithfulness. Amen.
