Former landlord

Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.

We join you in praying for your former landlord and we agree with you that Jesus reigns over all darkness and His light expels it.

We are encouraged by your heart for his salvation and your desire to see him give his life fully to Christ. You have chosen a powerful verse to stand on, for Jesus said in Luke 9:24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. This is the heart of the gospel, to surrender our own way and receive eternal life in Him. We also remember Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, and Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We also pray as you have asked that he will learn to hear the voice of God and follow His holy plan for his life. Jesus promises in John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And we know it is the Lord's desire that none should perish, as it says in 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We hold onto the promise in John 8:12 that Jesus said I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this former landlord to You. Lord, we ask that by Your Holy Spirit You would draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to see his need for a Savior, and soften his heart to receive Your truth. Help him to count his own life as nothing compared to knowing You, that he would lose his life for Your sake and so save it for eternity. Expel all darkness and every unclean influence from his life by Your light, and let no darkness remain where Your presence dwells. We declare victory in this rented apartment situation in Jesus name and ask that You would bring healing, peace and reconciliation where there has been strife. Make Your greatness and power known to him, Lord, that he would know Your mercy and grace personally. Give him ears to hear Your voice, to discern Your holy plan for his life, and give him the courage to follow You in obedience. We pray that he would enter into a living relationship with Jesus and walk as a new creation. We thank You for Your love and faithfulness that endures forever, and we trust You to continue Your good work in his heart. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for him with love and to let your own life be a witness of the light of Christ, trusting that God is working even when you cannot see it, for Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

We were moved by your desire to see your former landlord come to know Jesus and find real life in Him. It is a beautiful thing to turn a difficult rented apartment situation into prayer for another person's eternal good.

We join you in asking the Lord to work in his heart, to draw him toward truth and to help him hear God's leading for his life. Only God can open a heart, and He hears when we bring people to Him in love rather than resentment. Your willingness to pray for mercy and grace over him reflects Christ's own heart.

One simple step that helps many of us is to keep his name before the Lord privately and regularly, without feeling you must chase a response or keep contact if it is not wise. Entrusting both the person and the past housing situation to God can free you to walk forward in peace, knowing God will deal justly and mercifully as He sees fit.

Father, we lift this landlord to You and ask for Your mercy in his life. Draw him to Jesus, open his ears to Your voice and guide him into Your holy plan. Bring healing where there has been tension and give our friend peace as he trusts You with this. In Jesus' name, amen.
