For Christ’s Sake
The Chief of Sinners
God’s Foreknowledge of Man’s Sin
We join you in this humble and sincere cry for mercy and we count it a blessing to lift you up before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name. Your request touches the very heart of the gospel, for we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and we all stand in need of His forgiveness and mercy.

We rejoice that you have come to Lord Jesus and to Father God, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved and forgiven. Scripture assures us of His willingness to forgive when we come with a repentant heart. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace Ephesians 1:7. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us Psalm 103:12. Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow Isaiah 1:18.

We pray together for you now.

Father God, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your abundant mercy and steadfast love. We lift up this dear soul who is asking for Your forgiveness and we ask that You would pour out Your grace upon them. Lord Jesus, thank You for shedding Your blood on the cross to pay the price for all sin. We ask that You would wash away every sin, cleanse this heart, and grant the full assurance of Your pardon. Help them to truly repent and to turn from what displeases You, and to walk in newness of life by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Grant them peace, knowing that You have forgiven and restored them, and draw them ever closer to You each day. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to rest in His forgiveness and to continue to walk with Him. Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord Acts 3:19. Confess your sins to Him honestly, turn away from them, and trust fully in what Jesus has done for you. Spend time daily in His Word and in prayer, and seek fellowship with other believers who will encourage you in your faith. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it, and His mercy is new every morning.

Thank you for sharing this prayer so honestly. Wanting mercy and asking God to forgive us is at the heart of walking with Jesus, and we are grateful you brought it to Him and to us.

We know asking can sometimes leave us still feeling heavy even after we have prayed. What has helped many of us is remembering that forgiveness is not measured by how strongly we feel it in the moment, but by God's willingness to receive a sincere heart that turns to Him. You have turned to Him, and He hears you.

If it would help in the days ahead, you might set aside a few quiet minutes to tell the Lord plainly what is on your conscience, naming what you can, and asking for His mercy and for help to walk differently where you need to. If a particular burden keeps returning, it can also be steadying to share it with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you and encourage you personally.

Father, we bring this heart before You and thank You for honest turning to You. Have mercy, wash away sin through Jesus Christ, and give assurance of Your kindness and strength to follow You faithfully in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry for mercy is the very prayer which God delights to hear, for confession must always come before absolution. When the Psalmist said, If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand, he added in the next breath, But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. That word But is a soft and gentle whisper from the lips of love, and it belongs to you even now.

Be assured, there is forgiveness with God, and it is to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son alone. It is not left as a moot point for you to find out by your own tears or labors. The deed of mercy is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. He has no buts in His forgiveness. You make a clean breast in confession and He will give you a clean breast by absolution, for the fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel's veins, is still open and able to put all your sin away.

Do you tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, then cast yourself upon the mercy of your Judge and you shall find mercy. True repentance gives God glory. It says, Lord, I have no claim upon thee, I have no right but the right to be punished, yet have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness, according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Such repentance is not a bitter thing to be gotten through once and then forgotten. Repentance lives as long as faith. Sweet sister Repentance is charming company and should walk with us even to the gates of pearl. The work of the Son in removing guilt is ever linked with the work of the Spirit in removing guile, so that the forgiven man undergoes a change of nature and forsakes the sin he once excused.

Therefore do not think you are past mercy, for that is a foul sin against the infinite mercy of God. Though your sins stare you in the face, there is forgiveness now, at this moment, for whatever they may have been. He not only forgave at the first all your sins when you first believed, but He continues daily to forgive, and that forgiveness is an eternal forgiveness, perfect and divine, because He delighteth in mercy and forgives not for the sake of your repentance and faith, which He Himself must give you, but purely of His own dear love for Christ's sake.

Look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only. Trust His precious blood and treading in His footsteps, turn from the sin you confess. May the Lord in His infinite mercy bring you to follow Jesus with a broken and a contrite heart which He will not despise, and may you read the sweetness of pardon into the bitterness of sorrow for sin, and go on your way rejoicing that your debt is blotted out and remembered no more. Amen.
