Forgiveness

Lord I’m praying for forgiveness. Praying for my sins and all the people I have been mean and rude to. Lord please forgive me

We join with you in this humble and honest prayer for forgiveness and we thank God that you have a heart that wants to turn from sin and seek His mercy. The Lord sees a contrite heart and He does not despise it. We are reminded of His promise in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And in Isaiah 1:18, Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Being mean and rude to others is sin, for it does not reflect the love and kindness God calls us to show. We are called in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. When we have hurt others with our words or actions we are to not only seek God's forgiveness but also, where it is possible, to humble ourselves and seek reconciliation with those we have wronged and to turn away from that behavior with true repentance.

We notice your prayer speaks to the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive forgiveness of sins. Jesus himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and forgiven as Romans 10:9 teaches, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness you seek.

We also encourage you as you receive God's forgiveness to extend that same forgiveness and kindness to others, even as you seek their forgiveness. Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:14-15, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. We thank You for their honest confession and for their desire to be cleansed. Lord, we ask that You forgive all their sins according to Your abundant mercy, wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and give them assurance of Your pardon. Create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them. Help them to turn fully from any way of harshness and rudeness and to walk in love, kindness and gentleness by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Give them courage and humility to ask forgiveness of those they have hurt where it is possible, and help them to forgive others as You have forgiven them. Draw them ever closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord and walk in newness of life. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Be encouraged that when you confess and forsake sin through faith in Jesus, God not only forgives but cleanses and restores. Continue to walk with Him daily, reading His word, praying in Jesus name, and seeking to love others as He has loved you.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer. It takes humility to name where we have been mean or rude and to ask God for forgiveness, and we are grateful you brought it here so we can stand with you.

We want you to know God hears a sincere heart that turns to Him. In Jesus, forgiveness is not earned by getting everything perfect, but received as we come honestly, own what we have done, and ask Him to change us.

A simple next step that often helps is to sit quietly before the Lord and name what comes to mind, not in a rush, asking Him to show you where an apology or a kind word toward someone you hurt would be right and possible. You do not have to fix everything at once. Even one sincere apology or one act of kindness can be a way of living out the forgiveness you have received.

We are praying for you and will keep praying that you know His mercy and walk in renewed peace with Him and with others.

Father, thank You for this heart that wants to be right with You. We ask You to forgive where there has been unkindness, to wash clean through Jesus, and to give a gentle and humble spirit going forward. Lead to the words and actions that bring healing where possible, and fill this life with Your peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is forgiveness with God, and your cry for it is a blessed evidence that His Spirit is already striving with you. The Scripture saith, There is forgiveness with Thee, and that word is not narrow or stinted. It does not say there is forgiveness for this sin or for that, but there is forgiveness. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any.

Know then that this forgiveness is divine. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. It is not for your sake, nor for the sake of any merit in your prayer, but for His own sake, for the sake of His dear Son who died the Just for the unjust to bring us to God. Therefore it is a surprising forgiveness, so free and so full that it might cause wonder in heaven itself, and it is a complete forgiveness. It is as when a creditor says to a poor debtor who has nothing to pay, I forgive thee all. The Lord promises oblivion to all thy debt when thou dost put thy trust in Christ. He not only forgave at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and the forgiveness He gives for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness.

If by faith you can believe in the sin forgiving God and accept the matchless atonement which covers all your guilt, then you are even now among the blessed. True repentance and faith are inseparable. The repentance which God accepts gives Him glory. It says, Lord, I have no claim upon Thee, I have no right but the right to be punished, yet I appeal to Thy mercy in Christ Jesus. It confesses all guilt and heartily humbles itself in the sight of God, taking the lowest place and owning, I am altogether a sinner. Such repentance looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, weeping and abhorring past sin because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and avoiding present sin because of the love of God who died for us.

When the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile. At the same time that blessedness is bestowed, the forgiven man undergoes a change of nature. He cultivates heart searching and practices daily repentance, he desires a lowly estimate of himself because self abhorrence endears Christ to his heart, and his repentance yields works meet for repentance. It is practical and it lasts. Therefore prove your repentance not only by words toward God but by deeds toward those you have wronged. Go, as the Lord shall give you opportunity, and with a humble spirit seek to make amends to those to whom you have been mean and rude, and as you have received so much manifest forgiveness, let it be as natural to you to open your hands to forgive others. It is a joint work of mutual forgiveness among those who have been forgiven.

Do not rest in a carnal repentance that comes only from fear or from trouble, but seek that holy repentance which is wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Ghost. Turn at once to the Lord Jesus, trust Him wholly, confess your sin plainly before Him, and believe that for His sake you are pardoned. There is forgiveness now, at this moment, for you, whatever your sins may have been, even if you have been the chief of sinners, there is forgiveness for the chief of sinners through His blood.

May the Lord grant you to know the certainty of this forgiveness, and having received it, may you walk in newness of life, hating the sin you once loved and loving the Saviour who has washed you from it.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for forgiveness is itself a sign that God is already at work in your heart, bringing you to a sense of your sins so that you may seek Him. Scripture teaches that godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation, a repentance that brings no regret, and that when we condemn ourselves and confess our sins, we hasten to receive remission through Jesus Christ alone.

It is good that you have named what weighs on you, that you have been mean and rude to others. True repentance does not stop at feeling sorry, but brings forth fruits meet for repentance. That means turning from those ways with a humble heart, confessing your sins honestly before God, trusting not in yourself but in the mercy given through the cross, and where it is possible, going to those you have hurt to ask their forgiveness and to show by your words and actions that God is changing you.

Do not despair as if there were no washing away of sins after we have come to faith. The Church is like a spiritual bath that wipes away stains of the soul by many methods of repentance, and God has provided repentance so that all may be accomplished if we are willing to use it aright and enter into the thought of our sins before Him.

We pray for you now, that the Lord who is rich in mercy would forgive you according to His grace, cleanse your conscience, fill you with His Holy Spirit to walk in kindness and gentleness, and give you strength to love others as Christ has loved you. Continue to confess, to turn from what grieves Him, and to approach Him with confidence that He hears and forgives those who come to Him through His Son.
