We hear your cry for forgiveness and healing and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, thanking God that you have come with a humble and repentant heart. The Lord desires truth in the inward parts and He is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins. As it is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

We want to speak the truth in love about pornography, because it does not align with God's holy design. Jesus taught us that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28 Pornography is not a harmless habit, it is lust and fornication of the heart, and it defiles the mind and hardens the conscience. Scripture commands us to Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and sexual purity is meant to honor God, with sexual intimacy reserved for the lifelong marriage covenant between a man and a woman. When we give ourselves to porn, we sin against God, against our own body, and against the future spouse God may have for us.

We noticed you cried out to Lord, and we gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and receive forgiveness. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are washed clean and made new. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, turning from sin and following Him.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is seeking Your mercy. Lord, forgive this sin and wash it away by the blood of Jesus. Create in him a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within him. Psalm 51:10 Break the chains of lust and addiction and heal the wounds in his mind and heart. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to be transformed by the renewing of his mind. Romans 12:2 Give him strength to flee temptation, to make no provision for the flesh, and to walk in the Spirit. We ask that You fill him with Your Holy Spirit, with godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and with a deep love for Your Word. Guard his eyes and his heart, set him free from shame, and restore to him the joy of Your salvation. Lead him into accountability with faithful believers, for we confess our sins to one another that we may be healed. James 5:16 Help him to resist the devil and draw near to You, knowing You will draw near to him. James 4:7-8 We pray for purity, for wholeness, and if it is Your will, for a godly marriage in Your timing where love and intimacy can be holy and undefiled. We thank You that You are a compassionate Father who restores those who repent. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to walk out this repentance daily. We urge you to remove every source of temptation, to cut off access decisively as Jesus said if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. Matthew 5:29, to install filters, to bring this struggle into the light with a mature Christian brother for accountability, and to replace the time spent in darkness with the light of Scripture, prayer, and worship. Memorize and meditate on God's Word, fast and pray when tempted, and know that God will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 You are not alone and you are not beyond grace. God is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless. We will continue to pray that you walk in victory and purity by the power of Jesus.

There is forgiveness with God, and there is healing in Christ, and both are freely offered to you even now through Jesus Christ alone.

You have come as the man sick of the palsy came, lying in the presence of Jesus, hoping and expecting forgiveness and healing. You tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, and that desire itself is a sign that the Lord is drawing you. Hear this blessed whisper and let it drive away despair. There is forgiveness. There is forgiveness with Him to whom your offense has come, and where the offense went, from that very place the forgiveness comes.

This is a divine forgiveness, for the Lord says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. Were all men to hiss at you, you would not need their pardon to enter heaven, for it is God Himself who forgives. It is a surprising forgiveness, so surprising that it is repeated lest any should doubt it, and a complete forgiveness. Suppose you call upon your creditor and say, I have nothing to pay with. He destroys the tally, the record of your debt is nailed to the cross. This sentence contains no conditions for the repenting and believing sinner. Do as Martin Luther did when a brother said to him, Do you not say, I believe in the forgiveness of sins, now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. If you have been the chief of sinners, you may have the chief of sinners forgiveness, and God can bestow it now, at this moment, whatever your sins may have been until now. There is no limit drawn where God draws none, and this forgiveness which God gives for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. He never plays fast and loose with men, but absolutely, irreversibly forgives.

And with this forgiveness there comes healing. The Scripture places them in happy conjunction, the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, for the people that dwell there shall be forgiven their iniquity. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. He not only forgave you at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one, and He will heal the deep wound that pornography has left upon conscience and heart and body.

Yet charity without purity will be of no use, and without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Purity is one of the two great garments of Christianity, and it indicates separation, a keeping of oneself unspotted from the world. God has revealed the blessed purity of our holy faith not only in its precepts but in the character of the God whom it reveals. He calls you to flee from this sin, to turn from every provision for the flesh, and to walk in the way of holiness, for sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage, and every use outside of it defiles the soul. To be healed is to be separated unto Christ.

We have prayed for you that you would now receive this full and eternal forgiveness by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, and that you would know the healing virtue that flows from Him. Confess this sin plainly to Him, trust wholly in His blood, and ask Him for daily strength to walk in purity, seeking the help of faithful brothers or sisters, the counsel of Scripture, and watchfulness in prayer. O you who are now sick, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. May the Lord lift you up, make you whole, and keep you unspotted, to His glory. Amen.
