We hear your cry for forgiveness and healing, and we join with you in bringing this burden before the throne of grace. The sin of pornography and lust is a grievous one, for it defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and distorts the beautiful gift of sexuality that God designed for marriage alone. Jesus warned that even looking at another with lust is adultery of the heart (Matthew 5:28), and we must take this warning seriously.
First, we want to affirm that there is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cover. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Your repentance is not in vain, and your desire for healing is evidence of the Holy Spirit at work in you. But we must also be honest about the seriousness of this struggle. Pornography is not a victimless sin—it enslaves the viewer, harms those exploited in its production, and grieves the heart of God. It is a snare of the enemy, designed to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).
We rebuke the spirit of lust and addiction in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that your eyes belong to the Lord, and we pray that He would restore purity to your mind and heart. We encourage you to take radical steps to flee from temptation—this may mean installing accountability software, avoiding certain media, or even temporarily stepping away from devices that lead you into sin. Remember, Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife rather than entertain sin (Genesis 39:12). You must do the same.
We also urge you to fill your mind with God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures like Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me," and Psalm 119:9, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word." Memorize these verses and let them be your defense when temptation comes.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that apart from You, we can do nothing. We lift up our brother/sister who is struggling with the sin of pornography and lust. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who forgives and restores. We ask that You would wash over them with Your mercy and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and set them free by the power of Your Spirit.
Father, we pray for a renewed mind and a pure heart. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in holiness. Give them the strength to flee from temptation and the wisdom to guard their eyes and their heart. Surround them with godly accountability—brothers or sisters in Christ who will walk with them in this battle. Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds or emptiness that may have led them to seek fulfillment in sin. Let them find their satisfaction in You alone.
We rebuke the enemy’s lies that say this sin is too great to overcome. We declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We pray for a fresh filling of Your Spirit, that they may walk in victory and testify to Your transforming power. May their life bring glory to Your name, and may they experience the freedom that comes from living in obedience to You.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Do not lose heart, dear one. The road to freedom may be difficult, but it is worth it. Every time you choose righteousness over sin, you are weakening the enemy’s grip and strengthening your spirit. You are not alone in this battle—God is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into the fullness of His purposes for your life.
