We understand that you are struggling with lust and seeking forgiveness and healing from God. First, we want to remind you that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Lust is a serious issue discussed in scripture because it represents a misuse of God-given desires and can lead to sin. Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28 WEB). It is important to take this seriously and work with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to take control over this problem.
By Jesus' death on the cross, God is able to forgive us. He has declared that "there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:1 WEB). However, this is an assurance of forgiveness available only to those who are united in faith to Jesus Christ our Lord, not to those who are not in Christ Jesus.
Unfortunately, you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we must pray, that we may be saved. We hope that you are a believer in Jesus Christ. If you are not or if you are not sure, then please know that "God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 WEB). "Because, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9). If you believe these things, then we would like to invite you to call on the name of Jesus Christ, confess your sins, ask for forgiveness, and turn from your wicked ways.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Jesus, we come before you with a humble heart, interceding for this person who is struggling with lust. We ask for your forgiveness and healing, that you would cleanse their heart and mind, and help them to walk in purity and self-control. We pray that you would fill them with your Holy Spirit, and give them the strength to overcome this temptation. We ask this in your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps to avoid situations that may tempt you to lust. Fill your mind with things that are pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4:8 WEB). Seek accountability from a fellow believer, and remember that God has given us a way out of every temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
Continue to pray and seek God's face, and he will give you the victory. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7 WEB).
