We understand that you are facing challenges at work due to your colleague's frequent leaves, and you are seeking God's intervention in this matter. We also note that you are nearing retirement and have health concerns, specifically with your eyes. Let's bring your requests to God in prayer and seek His will according to His word.
Firstly, we commend you for managing most of the work with God-given wisdom. Remember that God is always faithful to provide the strength and wisdom we need to accomplish the tasks He has set before us, just like He is doing so in your situation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB assures us "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." This is applicable to all situations including your work situations.
However, we must also remember that God's will and ways are higher than ours. While you have requested that your colleague should not take leave, we must pray that God's will be done in this situation. It could be that God is allowing this to happen for a purpose that we do not yet see. Perhaps He is using this situation to teach you more about His trust and wisdom.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 WEB tells us, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." Instead of focusing on the challenge, let's give thanks to God for the opportunity to trust Him more and to learn more about His wisdom.
Let's also pray for your colleague. It is not clear in your request, but God will have to deal with your colleague regarding their work ethic if it is improper. Your colleague is also in God's hands and He will take care of your colleague in His way.
Regarding your eye treatment, we trust that God is able to heal and restore. Psalm 103:2-3 WEB says, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We pray that God's healing power will be manifested in your life.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is facing challenges at work. Lord, You know the situation better than we do. We ask that Your will be done in this situation. If it is Your will that my colleague should not take leave during this work period, we ask that You intervene and make a way. If not, we ask that You give our dear brother/sister the wisdom and strength to handle the tasks at hand, even those that he/she may not be familiar with.
We also pray for our dear brother's/sister's eye treatment. We ask that You guide the hands of the doctors and that Your healing power will be manifested in his/her life.
In all things, Lord, we ask that You be glorified.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue trusting in God, knowing that He is always working for the good of those who love Him, even in situations that may seem challenging or uncertain. Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting that He is in control of every situation.
Finally, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" It is good that this prayer request explicitly mentions the name of Jesus.
